"i don't suppose you have any idea where they are?" secretary ross asked in regards to hazel, steve, sam, and bucky's whereabouts.
"we will." tony assured him, assuring him that the avengers would handle it, just like they always did.
secretary ross shook his head. "you don't get it, stark. it's not yours to handle. it's clear you can't be objective. i'm putting special ops on this."
"what happens when the shooting starts?" natasha asked, looking up.
"what, are you just going to start killing the avengers?" dakota asked, crossing her arms over her chest. she was honestly really starting to hate this secretary.
secretary ross turned to kodie. "if we're provoked." the girl raised a brow, chuckling lowly to quietly display her anger. the man then turned to look at tony again. "barnes would've been eliminated in romania if it wasn't for rogers. there are dead people who would be alive now. feel free to check my math."
dakota rolled her eyes, looking over at him. "with all due respect, mr. secretary," she began, her father already pretending to act like he didn't know her, "you're not going to solve this with boys and bullets. shooting at barnes will only aggravate him, and it'll only make both rogers try even harder to protect him. with our personal connections to them, it would be so much simpler if you just let us bring them in."
"how," secretary ross spoke, "would that end any differently from the last time?"
"because this time, i won't be wearing loafers and a silk shirt. 72 hours, guaranteed." tony said from next to her, agreeing with his daughter's point that guns will only make the situation worse.
"36 hours." ross said, ignoring dakota's glare in his direction. "barnes, rogers, rogers, and wilson." he left the room, leaving kodie, natasha, and tony sitting there.
dakota was the first to speak. "so, what's the plan? we can all sit around a fire, hold hands, and sing some songs. or write heartfelt letters."
"or we could meet their group with a group of our own." her father suggested.
she turned to look at him. "the last thing we want is to make it seem like we're threatening them." she says. "this isn't a fight, it's a conversation."
"but they have a winter solider." tony pointed out. "i want to make sure we don't go in with the friendship bracelet materials, just in case."
dakota knew that he had a point, but she was also highly against the idea of fighting her friends. she told herself that it wouldn't get to that point, and that they were just taking precaution.
"we're seriously understaffed." natasha reminded them.
tony chuckled lightly, nodding in agreement. "oh, yeah. it'd be great if we had a hulk right about now. any shot?"
natasha shook her head. "no. you really think he'd be on our side?" she said. she then paused for a moment in thought. "i have an idea."
"me too." tony piped, looking at kodie for a moment before looking back at natasha. "where's yours?"
"downstairs." natasha smiled. "where's yours?"
