dakota and peter arrived at the hotel, and the latter immediately flopped onto his bed. both teens had changed out of their superhero gear, now in their respective t-shirts. "is that what all superhero fights are like?" he asked, looking up at dakota.

"well, normally it's not good guy versus good guy." she replied, laying on the bed next to him. "you did good, though, you did more than i did."

"that's not true!" peter insisted. "you fought ant-man, and falcon, and the new guy whose name i don't know. and you got all those cars off of mr. stark! and you helped me, twice."

dakota shook her head, smiling a little. "thanks." she looked down at her old converse as peter sat up. "you've got.." dakota pointed at the cuts on his face before going to the bathroom and grabbing a first-aid kit.

kodie made her way back into the room, setting the kit down on the bed. she took out some peroxide, putting it onto a cotton ball as she stood in front of peter, noticing the way he nervously bounced his knee. "this is going to sting, just warning you." she told him, applying it onto his skin. the boy didn't even flinch, just looking up at her.

"i have that many cuts on my face, huh?" he asked, watching as pieces of her hair fell out of its ponytail.

"just don't want them to get infected." she explained, wiping a little blood off of his lip. "i always watched when pepper used to do this for my dad; clean off his face after he battled one bad guy or another." she told him, watching how peter's eyes softened at the sound of her talking about her father.

"you and your dad.. are you close?" he asked.

she nodded, a small smile on her lips. "yeah. he's... maybe not the best role model, but he's mine. i've watched him go to hell and back for me." she cleans up some blood from his eyebrow. "and.. you and your aunt? you said you were close?"

he nods. "i don't remember my parents, really. but aunt may.. she's always been there for me. it's hard keeping all of this from her."

dakota frowns a little, thinking about it. she'd never had to hide her superhero identity, especially not from her father. "do you think.. you'll ever tell people?"

peter immediately shakes his head. "no. no, it's too risky." he says. "the only things i really do are like... petty crime. but i still can't have that traced back to may, or to my friends."

she nods a little in understanding. "that makes sense." she agrees. "so.. would it be too obvious to trace back to you if i.. tried hanging out with you sometime?"

he's shocked, unable to form a full sentence until he smiles. "i, uh... we'd have to figure that out, i guess."

she smiles a little. "yeah, i guess we would."

"are you.. asking to hang out with me?"

she shrugs her shoulders. "maybe i am."

peter's smile grows as he feels her wipe some blood off of the side of his lip. he'd completely forgotten about his injuries. "i'd like that. a lot." he says. "getting to hang out with you."

dakota's gaze flickered down to his lips before looking back into his eyes and down again. "ah, screw it." she mumbled before leaning down and lightly kissing him. peter's eyes widened and he didn't move, blink or breathe. the kiss was short, not much more than a peck. after she leaned back, peter lightly took hold of her waist, pulling the girl back down to kiss him again as she laughed.

the two kisses were short and sweet, and everything kodie had imagined from peter. he stood up, a bashful smile on his lips as he looked down at her. "woah." he breathed out. she laughed, moving so that her arms were around his waist in a hug. while they were still wrapped up in their moment, happy opened the door.
