the next thing dakota knew, she and her father were in their helicopter. while steve, hazel, and bucky were missing, the other avengers on the opposing side were being held in a facility, and the two starks had been called in to give the information they knew to secretary ross. they were in more leisurely clothes, but kodie remained as fashionable as she could in an all black outfit that looked comparable to her old s.h.i.e.l.d. suit.

"the task force called for a psychiatrist as soon as barnes was captured. the un dispatched dr. theo broussard from geneva within the hour. he was met by this man." f.r.i.d.a.y. was telling the two, displaying a photo of a man.

"did you run facial recognition yet?" tony asked.

"what do i look like?" f.r.i.d.a.y. replied.

tony thought for a moment. "oh, i don't know. i've been picturing a red head."

"really? i've always pictured a blonde." dakota joked.

"you must be thinking of someone else." the ai replied, voice monotone.

"must be." tony told her.

f.r.i.d.a.y. continued. "the fake doctor is actually colonel helmut zemo, sokovian intelligence." dakota swiped on the photo, blowing it up so it was projected throughout the helicopter. "zemo ran echo skorpion, a sokovian covert kill squad."

"so, what happened to the real broussard?" dakota asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

"he was found dead in a berlin hotel room. where police also found a wig and facial prosthesis approximating the appearance of one james buchanan barnes."

dakota bit the inside of her cheek, falling back in her chair. "son of a bitch." she mumbled, looking over at tony. this information meant that they'd been wrong about bucky all along, and that he hadn't killed the wakandian king to begin with. hazel and steve had been right the whole time. tony was going to have a lot of explaining to do.

the helicopter made its way over sea, stopping over where the prison was located. "this is the raft prison control." a guard spoke on the radio.  "you're clear for landing, mr. stark." the sea surged as raft prison rose from beneath, towering over the lapping waves. two semi-circular doors opened on the circular top, and the chopper landed on a helipad as the doors came to a close.

tony and dakota climbed out of it, approaching secretary ross. "so?" tony began. "you got the files? let's reroute the satellites, start facial scanning for this zemo guy."

"you seriously think i'm gonna listen to you after that fiasco in leipzig?" ross told him, watching as dakota rolled her eyes. "you're lucky you're not in one of these cells." he then told her, and she bit her cheek to avoid snapping back at the man. she broke her gaze away from him and looked up at a surveillance screen that showed wanda in a cramped prison cell. she was lucky to not be in one of the cells.

a door opened and the two starks walked into the prison-like room that their colleagues were in.

dakota heard clapping, and turned to see clint barton applauding them. "the futurist, gentlemen! the futurist is here! he sees all! he knows what's best for you, whether your like it or not."

"give me a break, barton." tony sighed. "i had no idea they'd put you here. come on."

clint spit his direction, clearly unmoved. "yeah, well, you knew they'd put us somewhere, tony."

"yeah, but not some super-max floating ocean pokey." tony replied. "you know, this place is for maniacs. this is a place for . . ."

"criminals?" clint countered, standing up. "criminals, tony. think that's the word you're looking for. right? that didn't used to mean me. or sam, or wanda. but here we are."

"because you broke the law." tony replied simply. "alright, you're all grown up, you got a wife and kids. i don't understand.. why didn't you think about them before you chose the wrong side?" tony walked away, dakota following with her head hung.

"kodie, you gotta watch your back with this guy." clint called after her. "there's a chance he's gonna break it."

the stark girl shook her head sadly, wondering if, by avoiding acknowledging clint, his words would have no effect. "hank pym always said," scott spoke from inside his cell, "you never can trust a stark."

"who are you?" dakota asked him sassily, continuing to walk.

"come on, man." scott sighed, slumping back down into his cell.

tony stopped at sam's cell, blocking the sound of it so they could talk about steve and bucky's whereabouts. dakota continued walking, crouching down outside wanda's cell. "i'm so sorry." she told her, hating seeing her friend locked in a cell for doing nothing but what she believed was right.

wanda barely looked at her, her gaze remaining on the floor. kodie sighed, putting a hand on the glass outside the bars that confined wanda. when the girl didn't move, dakota took it as her cue to leave her alone. she got back up, walking over to her father just as sam told him where steve and bucky were.

"stark?" secretary ross asked, watching as both starks turned around. "did he give you anything on rogers?"

dakota hopped into the helicopter, her father following her. "nope." tony replied. "told me to go to hell. i'm going back to the compound instead, but you can call me anytime."

"he'll put you on hold," kodie warned, "he likes to watch the line blink." with that, the helicopter doors closed, and the heli-carrier lifted, the helicopter flying off. tony un-clipped his arm from the sling it was in, looking over to dakota.

at the same time, the two starks pressed a button on their armrests, their iron suits wrapping around them. a hatch opened behind them, both father and daughter flying out of the helicopter, speeding through the dark clouds.
