"what can we do to help?" ned asked, looking at dakota.
"your friend liz?" she began, watching as he nodded in confirmation. "her dad is the bad guy, the guy with the wings. peter's going to go stop him, but he can't do it by himself, no matter how much he wants to. i'm going to try to get in contact with my dad, but he and i are kind of.. we're kind of fighting right now. so, while i'm doing that, i need you to find a computer somewhere and track the bad guy."
"the guy in the chair!" ned cheered, leading the way to the computer lab. "okay, how do i track him?" he asked, sitting down at a chair.
"oh, right, i put a tracker on him when i shook his hand." dakota said as she sat next to ned, looking at the screen in front of them.
ned nodded, impressed. "badass." his phone began to ring, and he picked it up, putting it on speaker so dakota could hear.
"hello," peter said on the other line, "ned? hey, hey, hey, hey, can you hear me?"
his friend nodded in response. "go for ned. i'm here with dakota." he said. "she told me all about the vulture guy. i can't believe he's liz's dad."
"yeah, me neither. can you find a way to track him?"
dakota looked up. "i already put a tracker on him."
ned nodded, a smile on his face. "genius move. okay, he just passed the gamestop on jackson avenue."
"hey, where are the headlights on this thing?" peter asked. "i'm in flash's car." he explained.
"you stole flash's car." ned chuckled. "awesome."
"yeah, it's awesome." peter agreed. "it's awe... whoa!" he exclaimed as he nearly crashed into other cars. "get out of the way, get out of the way! move! move!"
"peter, are you okay?" ned asked.
"i've never really driven before." his friend replied. "only with may in parking lots. this is a huge step up..." a car nearly hit peter, making him scream. "hey, have either of you gotten through to happy yet?"
"working on it." dakota replied, her phone up to her ear. "he isn't answering any of his calls."
"keep trying him until he does." peter responded. "hey, ned, how we coming on with those headlights?"
ned looked at the screen infront of him. "uh... round knob to the left of the steering wheel, turn clockwise." he said.
"left. okay. okay, perfect." peter said from the other line. "so where's the tracker now?"
"um... he stopped in an old industrial park in brooklyn."
peter shook his head. "what? that makes no sense. i thought he said he was going out of town!"
dakota got up from her seat. "no idea. but happy is too preoccupied with moving day to-"
"moving day?" peter asked. "it's moving day! he's gonna rob that plane!" he exclaimed. "i gotta stop him!"
"okay, slow down." ned said. "you're getting close. it's on your right."
"what?"
"turn right! turn right!" ned exclaimed. from the other line, he and dakota could hear the car screech to a stop. "peter, are you okay?"
"yeah, yeah, i'm good." he said.
dakota stood up, her phone in hand. "i'm going to go see if i can get happy, good luck pete."
as she left the room, ned looked at his phone intently. "it's been an honor, spider-man." he said seriously, hanging up the phone.
suddenly, the lights went on. "what are you doing here?" a teacher asked, looking at ned, who was now sitting by himself. "there's a dance."
