"all right. i'm in position." peter said from the top of a building. he was watching the prague festival of lights (or whatever it was, he hadn't paid attention when mr. harrington had talked about it) from afar, frowning as he thought of his friends, who were all inside of the opera house nearby. hopefully they'd be safe, but there was no way of telling. "as soon as i see something, beck, i'll.. i'll let you know."

honestly, peter didn't want to be doing this. if his field trip kept getting pushed back, so would his plans with kodie. it was becoming more and more likely that he wouldn't make it to paris, and then he wouldn't be able to take her to the top of the eiffel tower, and then...

"how's the suit?" fury asked, taking peter out of his thoughts.

"the suit's great." peter replied, looking down at the all-black spider suit. "it's awesome. it's a little tight around the old web-shooter." he joked, letting out a grunt as he attempted to adjust the material.

"parker!" fury scolded.

"oh, shut up." dakota said on the comms, a laugh coming out of her mouth.

he smiled at the sound of her voice. "okay, i'll shut up."

dakota and beck were both in hiding, waiting for peter's word that the elemental had showed up. kodie hated beck. there was no easy way to put it; she genuinely hated him. she was glad that he was there for peter, but man did he get on her nerves. he was standing next to her in his full get-up, and she tried not to roll her eyes at how heroic he was acting.

"okay, this isn't my first time fighting this thing. so, i think you should follow my lead." he said, turning to look at her.

she raised a brow, even though he couldn't see under her suit. "yeah? well, i'm following fury's lead and fury's orders, and waiting for peter's signal."

he only scoffed in response, turning back around. why he was so dead-set on treating her differently than everyone else was beyond her, but she couldn't help but assume it had something to do with the fact that she was the only person of authority, other than hill, that was a woman. and that thought made her even more angry.

"energy spiking." fury suddenly said.

"we have seismic activity." hill confirmed, and dakota watched as the floor practically cracked in the middle of the street. a lava-like goo then erupted from the ground, entangling a water fountain like a vine.

the fountain exploded from the heat, and out popped a giant lava monster. "okay, he's here! kodie, beck, you ready?" peter asked, still in position at the top of the building.

"on your lead, spider-man." beck said, as if he wasn't talking about being the leader himself only moments prior.

beck and kodie flew in at the same time, and while beck used his green power.. stuff to hold the monster in place, kodie flew around it, blasting at it with the freeze effect on her iron suit. it shielded its face with a fiery hand, clearly getting ticked off. as soon as dakota had flown out of the way, peter pulled on a fire hydrant, sending the water flying up the creature.

peter, after trying to distract it, watched as the monster grabbed onto a nearby carousel, locating the metal parts of it to allegedly make itself more powerful. "no, guys! he's got the carousel! he's getting bigger!"

ned and betty, meanwhile, were locked into the ferris wheel, watching from afar. "wait, wait. is that.. do you think that's spider-man?" betty asked, pointing at peter.

"no, no, no." ned shook his head. "it's like a european rip-off version of him. i actually read about him the other day, it's not him."

"what's his name? what's his name?" betty demanded.
