Chapter 15

"It's Jade Starlings!!"

We hear someone yell as we wait in the queue to get ourselves Mcdonald's on our way back from the resort. We spent two days on the beach and we had a great time enjoying by ourselves. It really helped in calming my nerves about everything. Danny had called us to get back today so here we were.

I was wearing a white crop top with blue high wasted jeans along with a pair of black loafers. I had tried my best to conceal my face with big sunglasses, and a p-cap but I suppose I've got no luck because clearly they still recognized me. Della starts panicking when she looks around to see people gathering at my side. The people ahead of me in the queue looked back at me and I see their eyes widen at the sight of me. oh boy

I smile nervously at them and Della grabs me by my arm. She's the shy kind and she doesn't like attention at all. And soon we were amidst a huge crowd that was chanting and screaming for a picture or an autograph. I smiled at them and took pictures with some of them because I had no way out of this. I was hoping security would come clear some space for us to walk out but nothing yet. People requested Della to take my pictures with them which she did. 

I keep muttering thank you to them when they tell me they love and adore me. Soon enough security guy makes way through the crowd and greets me, asking people to step aside. I hadn't got the time to place my order but the girl on the counter handed me two bags full of food, I refuse to take it without money but she insisted. I grab the bags and the security helps us get out. People keep screaming, we love you behind me.

We rush out and the security guy opens the door of my car for me. I thank him with a smile and plop down on the driver's seat. I rummage through those bags to see four burgers, fries and some nuggets. The smell of them makes my stomach growl. Della gets in and sits down.

"Dells! We need that apple pie for Danny! Wait here I'll get it." I start opening the door but she stops me.

"Are you crazy? Did you not see what just happened? You wait here and I'll get it." She opens the door of her side and dashes out while I simply shrug my shoulders and throw some fries in my mouth before I press the engine to start. Right then Della knocks on the window, I roll it down and she speaks, "Are you sure you can find your way back from here?"

"Don't worry. Someone told me to look for the north star if I'm lost and I'll find my way back." I shrug, proudly. She looks convinced and nods. I pull up the window and reverse the car before I hit the race.

"How can I get lost when Danny already sent me the location!" I chuckle as I open the location on the map. I always speak too soon because as soon as I say this, my phone shows me a low battery sign and powers off.

"Of course!!! The battery is gotta die right when it's important!" I huff and pull the cord from the glove compartment, plug it in and put my phone on charge. I start to drive again and I go over a bump a little too fast. I let out a yelp as the car starts to wobble on the road and I think I know what's happened. "No, please!" I get out of the car and look at the right tire, it's fine, and then at the left tire. Yup, I've got a flat tire in the middle of nowhere and my phone is also dead. 

"Right! My life can never be without these troubles, right!? UGH!" I put my hands on the waist and look around where I stand. "I don't even know where I am!" I think about what I said to Della about finding my way back and how she shouted behind me that it's daytime. "I can't even find the north star now." I purse my lips in a thin line and close my eyes for a moment to try to ease my nerves.
