CHAPTER : 3

"Oh Laura! Here you are. I thought you left already." A man said walking towards the pretty looking girl. The girl surely had innocence on her pretty face.

"I'm waiting for my boyfriend to pick me up." She said shyly pressing the button of her phone turning the lock-screen on. "Look at that. He's not even here yet." She said to the man pointing pointing towards the time on her screen and sighed. "I called and told him I'll go home myself but he won't allow it." She said dragging the word "allow".

"He'll be here soon. I almost forgot, a student asked me to hand you his homework." The man remembered and handed a booklet to Laura.

"Who? Why didn't he hand it himself?" She asked, curiosity laced in her tone. To satisfy her curiosity she opened the copy.

"Sorry babe, please forgive me." was all she saw on every page she turned.

In her mind she knew to whom that booklet belonged to. She looked towards the door and then towards the old man standing in front of her desk and inquired,

"Where's the owner?"

As she said, a handsome looking man appeared at the door. A sweet smile adorning his manly face as he waved his hand at her saying, "I'm here." Laura flashed her beautiful smile at him, eyes filled with adoration.

"I know I'm wrong, Laura." He said while entering the room, raising his hand. "Thank you!" he said to the old man. The old man patted his back and left the room to the sweet couple.

Laura stood up and said, "And what should I do with this booklet?" she said pointing towards the green booklet. The handsome man smirked while brushing his chocolate brown hair away from his eyes and leaned forward saying, "A teacher once taught me that if someone admits they're wrong and apologizes we should forgive them." And shrugged his shoulders casually.

Laura countered, "But a lawyer once told me that those who wrong, need to get punished before they can be forgiven." And she hit her boyfriend's head with the booklet. Mr. Boyfriend faked out a painful sound while caressing his forehead.

"I should really hit that lawyer in the face. " He said jokingly in a mock seriousness. The girl sat back and looked everywhere but him. After all she waited for an hour for him to pick her up.

He sighed and smiled a bit at her behavior, "Babe I came late but it's not because I'm not attentive." He again leaned down on the desk resting his hands on it, he continued, "But there was an accident this morning that's why." He said, distaste filling his tone as if he had eaten something disgusting. His eyes filled with anger as if something about the accident disturbed his mind.

Hearing this Laura looked up at him curiously but more worriedly and concern laced her voice when she spoke, "What accident?" The man bit his lips and took a long breath, eyes on the floor.

.......

Mr. Wayne introduced me and Danny to some of his colleagues in a party. Loud music was blaring in the club along with the chattering of numerous people. All of these people seemed belong to the same industry, judging from the expensive looking clothes they wore. Mr. Wayne and Danny sat on the sofas, surrounding a small table. I preferred to stand and enjoy the people around. I had a glass filled halfway with some delicious sweet and sour liquor, oh how good it tasted and made me feel. I was dressed in a dark blue sparkly dress showing my shoulder and some of my chest. It was a hot but more of a cute tube dress. I smiled at the middle aged man sitting with Mr. Wayne and clinked my glass with his glass, cheering.
