18. the ministry is interfering

Dumbledore had made his speech or at least tried to but a new teacher who literally looked like a failed Barbie interrupted him.
Umbridge: Thank you, Headmaster, for those kind words of welcome. And how lovely to see all your bright happy faces smiling up at me [No one smiles]. I'm sure we're all going to be very good friends.
"That's likely." Fred and george muttered.
"As long as she doesn't make me wear that hideous outfit then I'd consider it" I joked.
Umbridge: The Ministry of Magic has always considered the education of young witches and wizard of vital importance. Although each Headmaster has brought something new to this historic school.
Umbridge: Progress for the sake of progress must be discouraged. Let us preserve what must be preserved, perfect what can be perfected and prune practices that ought to be prohibited.
Dumbledore: Thank you Professor Umbridge, that really was most illuminating.
Ron: Illuminating? What a load of waffle!

"I see the ministry is interfering with Hogwarts business." I state as we walk back to the dorms.

"Hey wait up."
Did I just hear malfoy trying to talk to us.
"I just wanted to say I am so sorry for how I have treated you and I know I know going to have to do a lot more to make up for it but I really am sorry." Malfoy looks like he was about to cry.
"He's telling the truth guys I listened to his heartbeat." Fred states.

"Look you know we can't just forget about everything you've done but we are willing to forgive you, you've done worse to the trio, faith here can try and convince them but you'll have to do the rest." George adds.

"Yeah also I know slytherins aren't all that bad they just have a bad reputation, I'll talk to the others but you need to talk to them aswell." I smile. I know he is trying to make up for everything.
"Hey malfoy can I just try something, I'm going to look into your mind well your memories just want to check something." I ask.
"Yeah sure." He replies.
I walk I've to the boy and but my hand on his arm, I was in his head.
*In his head*
"Ok malfoy I'm going to need you to think of when your family told you to bully/hurt us." I tell him.
He thought of it and it was horrible i could tell he didn't want to do it.

I come out of his mind and thank him. We head back to our dorm and he disappears to somewhere else.

"Ok I looked in his memory he's definatly not lying." I tell fred, george and the trio.
"I guess we could forgive him." Hermione speaks up.

"Faith can I talk to you about something please." Harry asks looking nervous.
"Yeah sure." I reply.
We walk off to the deserted corner of the common room.
"Ok so I don't know if this is stupid but I've kinda had a crush on Draco since first year even though he's a dick and hates my guts." Harry confesses.
"Harry, I'm glad you told me and I'm pretty sure your the reason he's apologising."

"defence against the dark arts with umbridge first, let's see how she's gonna teach us." I groan as we make our way into the classroom.

I sat with hope this lesson as the other had other classes. Umbridge had given us books and said we weren't aloud to use our wands, little did she know hope and I didn't need wands.
Then she said something about Cedrics death being a tragic accident.
"Excuse me but I was there the dark Lord murdered him." I tell her.
"You should raise you hand in my class and do not tell lies." She smirks.

"Well exuuuse me bitch I didn't know you were all knowing."

"Miss Mikaelsons is it? The dark Lord isn't back and there is no threat."

"See this is where you need to shut your mouth because you don't know shit Cedric was murdered because voldermort killed him." I shouted

"My office for detention tonight 8pm sharp, now get out of my classroom and anyone else who believes her can go aswell." She was annoyed now.

I stormed out of the classroom and straight to the dorms.

Hopes pov

"Yeah your lesson was boring anyway you might want to find another job because all the DADA teachers are gone within the year." I stood up and walked out the room before she could give me detention.

Faiths pov

I walked into my room and threw myself on my bed and curled up remembering that night and how I held Cedrics cold dead corpse.
Hope walked in I curled up and she came and say next to me.
"She doesn't know what she's talking about she's a bitch and I believe you she's just doing what ministry wants cause she's obsessed with fudge."

"Thanks hope, she just gets on my nerves so much and it's only been like 5 hours ."

"Ok now what do you say to skipping lessons today?" Hope asked.

"I'm up for that, you wanna go into the forest with bourbon and snacks?"

"Yeah you get your bourbon stash then we'll go to the kitchens for food."
