28 - Our families

Zhan did not sleep for more than an hour. When he woke up again, he didn't remember what happened. He said he could suddenly feel everyone's fear as Han took out the gun and placed it on my brother's chest. "Something inside me awoke, I just don't know what. I can't remember anything else." Said Zhan.

It's just like the first time, when he completely passed out at the institute, but then slept through the morning and even developed a fever. This time, however, he fortunately didn't get a fever and woke up quickly.

Han is, now after almost 3 hours still unconscious and Zhan was shocked when we told him what happened and that it was him who put Han in that state. I don't know if it was a good idea to tell Zhan this as much. Right now he is sitting there staring at Han, who is still unconscious. I don't like the look on his face. He looks like he's afraid of himself.

Although we would prefer to leave Han here in the cave so the creatures can take care of this traitor, we can't do that. Not only because we are not murderers, but also because we cannot find our way back without Han.

Unfortunately, my brother's footage is once again of no use to us. Although he filmed the way here and also the way back when they went to our cars and came back with Rin and May. But, once again, the camera was not on the path, but on Han, who was talking some nonsense about alien life forms that, in his opinion, already live among us. Well, maybe my brother should have already recognized that as a sign of his craziness.

Right now we are all at a loss, because without Han we can't get out of here and we can't get him awake. His satellite phone has a pin, so we can't use that either. My brother at least tried to use it to call 911, since it doesn't require a pin, but it didn't connect.

On top of that, and this concerns all of us a lot. That our families will surely be here soon. Only, they are not expecting us in the cave, but in the office building of the Crane Institute. And we can't call them to tell them we're not there anymore.

I wonder, with all that Han has been saying, if he was deliberately leading us away from the grounds of the Crane Asylum when we came through Barracks 3 to freedom. Could it be that he led us here quite consciously to then leave us to our fate? Or did his own will to survive lead to this?

Zhan is in bad shape. It looks like he's having a minor breakdown. Yanli is with him, taking care of him. He cries in her arms and keeps saying that he didn't want this and he's sorry. Yanli keeps telling him that Han is alive, not hurt and just lost consciousness. But Zhan is not reassured by this.

I even heard him say that he probably should have stayed at the institute after all, because he is dangerous and can't be allowed near other people.

I would like to help him, but at the moment Yanli is the only one he lets get close to him. I don't know if he is aware that he is scaring me too, especially about our relationship. With these thoughts that he has, I have terrible thoughts that he doesn't want to be with me anymore because he is worried that he can hurt me.

Oh man, we have enough problems as it is and now this too. And, it's getting later and later!

André just gave us all our medication. That brings me to another question. When we meet our families, can we approach them without hesitation? Or will we risk infecting them? If we have anything at all! Because I am beginning to believe nothing here.

Zhan is feeling better again. He is with me now and lies with his head on my lap. Yanli was able to calm him down. He came to me after talking to her and hugged me. We talked briefly and I told him not to worry. After all, he wanted to protect all of us. Zhan said, "No. Not everyone. Just you." It's strange that all I can think about too, is wanting to protect Zhan.
