By midday the boys had retreated to the van. Rain came down-pouring almost entirely out of nowhere causing them to seek shelter.
In the last row, Seoho and Hwanwoong were contemplating what to have for lunch. Leedo and Keonhee sat in the middle, listening actively to the argument happening behind them. Xion sat in the passengers seat silently alongside Ravn who took back his original spot.
Eventually it was agreed upon to each have yogurt since it would go bad soon anyways. Alongside that they each had an apple and a random snack of their choice. To drink they passed around a jug of fruit juice.
"I'm glad Seoho thought to bring silverware." Keonhee announced as he dug his spoon into the cup of banana yogurt.
"Yeah I don't think that was high on any of our lists of things to grab." Hwanwoong agreed, leaning his head against the wall while eating.
Xion just starred at the yogurt in his hand instead of eating it. Somehow he was passed a blueberry flavored yogurt. Ravn noticed the younger practically glaring at the plastic container and stifled a laugh.
"Here." Ravn took the yogurt out of the youngest hand and gave him the vanilla flavored one he was originally going to eat.
"Ah, thanks." Xion said, shocked yet very thankful of what just happened.
Ravn hummed in response, turning in his seat to be able to face the back. It really did look better now that everything seemed to have a place to be. The others kept some small talk going, mostly about anything other than the situation they were put in. Eventually after they all finished eating, they gathered their trash into a random plastic bag that was designated as their trash bag. Seoho grabbed a plastic container that he brought along and told the others to put their silverware in it, he thought once the small container was filled he could wash it eventually.
The small talk continued on for another few minutes until a clap of thunder made everyone jump out of their skin and fall silent. Wide eyes stared at one another as another boom echoed around them. Lightning flashed around them, followed by more claps of thunder. The rain began to fall in heavy drops, almost making the boys think it was hail instead of rain. But a quick glance out the window confirmed it was just lots of water.
By this point Keonhee had curled into his seat with his hands over his ears, tears brimming his eyes. Xion looked equally as scared, only slightly curling into himself.
"Well, this is great." Ravn muttered sarcastically, the remark mainly meant for himself.
The wind howled around them, slightly shaking the van from how powerful it is. The rain became a thick curtain, it soon became difficult to see anything past a few feet through the windows. Large puddles formed around the van, and parts of the fields began to flood over into the road. It was concerning how the storm seemed to be getting worse by the second.
"I didn't expect a storm like this to pass by, I'll tell you that." Seoho made the comment to try and lighten the mood ever so slightly.
"No kidding." Leedo responded in the same tone.
The male was trying to reassure Keonhee besides him by placing a hand on the others knee. The other stopped rocking, not even realizing he was moving to begin with. Keonhee looked around with his hands still over his ears, flinching every time lighting stuck or thunder boomed.
"Is is possible to you know, try to drive out of this?" Hwanwoong asked having to stand slightly to look over the back of the chairs in order to see out of the front windows. "We can't possibly be safe here."
"I'll try to." Ravn nodded his head as he answered, maneuvering back into his seat properly, glancing in the mirror at the others.
"Be careful." Xion muttered, peering through his side window. "There's a lot of mud."
