A week had passed since the six had settled in their new home. They were completely stranded, the radio did not work no matter what they tried, and their cell phones are completely useless. At night, zombie roamed the streets but during the day everything seemed void of life. The six were still trying to figure out how these monsters worked, comparing notes and ideas whenever they could.
The third story room was now more organized then before. They brought up a few book shelves from the second floor to store their food on and used an old table to store other random items on. Packs of water were stacked besides the shelves, opposite of the windows to the road. Their bags were still filled, placed randomly against the walls, and no one went anywhere without their personal backpack on or at least within arms reach. It's strange how their life has changed so fast.
"I think we should go out and look for some things to help secure the building tomorrow." Ravn suggested, staring out of one of the windows at the moonlit street. "There seems to be more zombies in the area."
"I agree with that, they're getting pretty noisy too." Leedo added from the couch.
"Well what are you planning?" Seoho asked propping his head on his arm, looking at Ravn from the mattress.
"Whatever it is count me out." Keonhee pouted before Ravn even had the chance to respond. He did the same thing as Seoho except his legs are curled inwards and not sprawled out.
"I was just going to say whoever wants to go, we could check the surrounding buildings for anything. Since they are close we could check back frequently and drop off whatever we find." Ravn shrugged after he spoke his idea. "Testing the grounds I guess."
Besides Leedo, Xion and Hwanwoong were silently debating in their heads. Both of them are obviously scared because who knows what could happen outside of their bubble, yet at the same time they both want to get stronger, be able to defend themselves, learn to survive with this virus. Keonhee stood with his spoken decision, sure he knows he'll have to face the nightmares eventually, but he needs more time to process everything and become stronger in his own way.
"Well what are you looking for specifically? You have to have some ideas in mind." Seoho continued to ask, knowing he would probably end up tagging along anyways.
Ravn hummed, walking away from the window and sitting on the floor by the couch. This has become his go to spot to sit and sleep, proven by his whole body being sore.
"Boards to put on the windows, more things to block entry ways, maybe things to make this place more lively." Ravn listed while scratching his head. "Nothing else really pops up in my head."
The others nodded their heads.
"Mainly defense stuff." Seoho confirmed the main goal to himself.
"I'll go." Everyone was shocked as their eyes landed on the youngest who looked at everyone else like nothing was wrong."What?"
"Really? Are you sure?" Leedo sounded astonished by Xion's sudden confidence.
Xion confirmed by nodding his head and showing everyone the determined look in his eyes. "I want to help out more, and I don't want to just stay cooped up in here for the rest of my life."
No one could argue with him, his points were valid.
"Alright, anyone else?" Ravn sounded surprised as well and in a weird way he was happy. Xion wanting to face the world head on could mean that he was pushing his fears aside.
"I'd go but I was kind of thinking I'd be of more help here watching out for anything." Leedo said leaning forwards to rest his elbows on his knees, being closer to the level Ravn is sitting at. "But if no one else wants to go then I'll tag along."
