Chapter 11: Preparation

Dinner was over and you were all back at the houses. Everyone was just messing around like they did the night before and were scattered around on the beach, deck, and in the houses. It wasn't quite dark yet, but the sun was setting. You were sitting on the deck of the boys' house facing the ocean with Armin next to you and you got a snapchat notification from Eren. Your stomach fluttered a little bit when you saw that it was from him, even though you were already expecting him to text you to go over the plans for the night.

Eren: Is it ok if we meet at like 1? The house is only 4 down from the boys' house your school rented. It has brown wooden shingles on the outside. It's the only one like that nearby. I'll be sitting outside and my friends will probably be out there waiting for you with me. I think that once you sneak out of your house, then you can just come this way on the sand. It's not far at all and I'll be able to see you coming, so you'll be safe. I'm just afraid that if I come all the way over to your house that if someone sees you and comes out, they'll see me too and realize exactly what's happening and that would be really bad. But does all this sound good to you?

You read his message carefully and could tell that he was really putting effort into meeting you and being careful with it and it made you really happy. You really couldn't wait.

You: ok that sounds good to me. i'm telling Armin so that he can be on the lookout in case anyone tries to come after me. i'll plan to sneak out at 1

"Eren just texted me with the plans to sneak out for tonight. I'm leaving at 1." you said to Armin.

"Ok. Do you know what time you'll be back?" he asked you.

"No I'm not sure yet but I probably won't be gone for more than maybe 1-2 hours I'd say."

"I think that it would be a good idea to set an alarm to remind you to leave in case you lose track of time. It would be bad if you came back too late and got caught." he suggested. You were glad that he was happy to help you meet Eren and wasn't being petty or anything.

"I never even thought about doing that thank you so much for telling me to do that. You're a lifesaver Armin!" you said as you flashed him a smile.

"No problem." he said giving you a smile back.

It was time for everyone to get ready for bed, so you changed out of your jean shorts and put on another pair of shorts that were comfier and put on a new tshirt to wear to 'bed'. You brushed your teeth and laid down in your bed. You didn't take off your makeup and you were hoping that nobody would notice. As everyone settled into their beds and the lights were turned out, you put in your airpods and closed your eyes and pretended to sleep. You not only had an alarm set for 4am to remind you to leave in case you got carried away with Eren and his friends, but you also had an alarm set for 1am that would only go off through your airpods so no one else would hear it. You had two hours left until it was time to sneak out, so you dozed off in the meantime.
