Time skip: 7 days
It had been a week since you and Eren last talked. Your heart was still sore from everything, but you knew the only way to recover was to continue on with your life without thinking too much about everything that happened. You had told all of your close friends the story and they were all just as shocked as Armin, but they were incredibly comforting to you and were very helpful which helped lift your burden. You no longer were wearing the bracelet anywhere and you changed your phone wallpaper to a picture of you and your friends. You wanted to hide things that would make you think of Eren because you wanted to be able to go about your days without having all that on your mind.
It was a Friday in the late afternoon and you had no more classes left in the day. You were in your dorm watching Netflix when you got a call on your phone. You looked to see who it was and saw that it was Jean. That's random... you thought. You were curious to know why he was calling, so you quickly picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hey y/n. I have something I need to talk to you about so can we meet somewhere? I kind of want to talk in person about it." he said.
"Oh uh sure. Right now?" you questioned in confusion.
"As soon as possible." he said.
"Okay uh we can meet at the library or something right now. It's pretty close to my dorm so I can be there pretty quickly."
"That works. See you in a minute then, y/n." Jean said before hanging up.
You were confused and a little bit nervous, but you got up and headed out the door and went to the library.
You arrived and saw Jean already sitting at a table. You went over and took a seat across from him.
"Thanks for coming. I just wanted to tell you that Eren called me this morning. It's the first anyone has heard from him since the incident." Jean said in a low voice.
"Oh... what did he call you about?" you asked as your stomach dropped.
"... he asked me how you were." he said with a blank face.
"Oh... what did you tell him?" you asked as you stared at Jean with a solemn expression. You were very nervous about what Eren had said and what he was trying to do.
"I said that you were really hurt but that you're feeling a little better."
"That was a good answer. What else did he say?"
"He asked what he should do. He doesn't know if he should talk to you or if he should let you live your life and not cause any more pain by talking to you again. I told him that it wasn't my call since I'm not the one that was there, but I said that I think it would be smarter to at least apologize instead of leaving you in the dark about everything." Jean said.
"Thank you for giving such good responses. That was the smartest thing to say. What did he say to that?" you asked.
"He said that he feels horrible and that he hates himself for leaving you like that but he doesn't know if it would make things worse if he showed his face to you again. But he really misses you." he said with a pained look on his face.
"Oh my god... thank you for having me come here to talk, Jean. You're a big help. I think that I need to go do something now." you said as you quickly got up and waved goodbye to Jean.
"Good luck." Jean said with a slight smile.
You quickly walked back to your dorm and changed into a pair of shorts and a hoodie and then stuffed a few things into a backpack before hurrying to your car. You knew that you wanted to talk to Eren and you didn't want him to torture himself anymore. You knew what you really wanted and you didn't want to make Eren have to guess. You started on your hour drive to see him. As you drove, you knew that you might not be able to go back to the way things were, but you just needed to talk to him. The whole week that you weren't talking, you were trying to recover but the whole time you knew that you needed to talk to him and that you just had to wait for the right time. You felt that this was your opportunity.
