Eurielle took her time walking downstairs, slowly creeping into the kitchen to find the adults all nursing a drink. She looked to her mother and then to Kreacher, " So when's dinner going to be done?" she asked, leaning against the wall.
Her mother sighed, " Shouldn't be long, though I do wish Kreacher would let me cook, " she chuckled lightly while Sirius threw the elf an irritated look.
Eurielle only nodded, " Thank you for being understanding about the whole thing, and I do understand why you wanted me to go," she murmured, her eyes traveling up to the chandelier that lit up the depressing room, " And also thanks for giving Nott a chance,"
Evelyn smiled, " He reminds me of someone, " she replied smoothly before standing, " I'll see you two out,"
Remus and Dora bid everyone goodbye before heading into the great room with Evelyn in tow. Eurielle took a seat next to Sirius, " You ready for the wedding tomorrow?" he inquired, pouring her a small glass of wine.
Eurielle smirked, " Can't wait, " she said, taking a sip, " I think it'll be fun, a chance for us all to let our hair down, yeah?"
Sirius laughed, " It's been a while since I've been out on a dance floor, if anyone asks why I seem like I'm having a seizure just say I'm wasted, " he said half-joking, half totally serious.
It wasn't a moment later when Evelyn came back into the room, " We should have gone dancing more when we were younger, " she said, " I remember one time we went to that old coffee joint Nicole worked at for one of her friend's shows- " she cackled, " You and James looked like a couple of jackasses dancing in the middle of the room, barely sober enough to stand," she said more to Eurielle than to him.
Eurielle's lip quirked upwards, " I can see it," was all she said before making her way back up the stairs, leaving the couple alone.
Evelyn laid her head on Sirius's shoulder while he reached for her hand, " So. . . you still want to talk about it, love?" he asked softly, allowing her to say no.
Evelyn shook her head, " I think I've waited long enough," she muttered, pouring herself a little bit more wine, " You're going to want to ready yourself for this one,"
To his surprise Evelyn stood, a large smile on her face, " It's almost a relief to talk about it, I suppose," she chuckled nervously, " It's a long and. . . disturbing story, but here we go,"
Sirius took a deep breath and sat up straight giving her all his attention, " Evelyn Marie Boswell was born in the Winter of 1999, I can't remember what date, but she lived in Seattle." she looked over to him to see his reaction but there was none, she continued, " I know she wasn't happy, her parents weren't good to her, and she led a very lonely life- even now I can feel it,"
" After graduating from high school she moved across the country to attend college in Massachusetts, and one early morning in October she decided to take a w-walk," Evelyn felt her throat tighten and she squeezed her eyes shut.
The breeze whipped her stringy blonde hair around her face and she shivered, why hadn't she just stayed in bed?
The street posts light flickered, its solar panel detecting small rays of sun peaking behind the muggy sky's clouds. She sighed, watching her breath rise in front of her, she wanted to go back to her bed. . .
Evelyn replayed the events in her head over and over again, wondering if she could tell him what happened next, " The poor girl. . . , " she paused, " I told you what happens next to her,"
" There was this party, It was football season and there were still a bunch of people at one of the frat houses. They came out and took her to the back of the house. . . during it she was out of her body, she was vaguely aware of any of it. Her mind placed its hands over her eyes and took her to her favorite bookstore back in Seattle."
