Fighting Back is Wrong: Reconstructed

Bullies: "Hey, glasses," punching the locker next to him, "we're going to beat the shit out of you."

Friend: Let me guess, you're taking it out on me because one of you is dealing with an abusive alcoholic parent, you feel overshadowed by your siblings, you're dealing with an inferiority complex, and you just like proving you're better than everyone else in the room.

Bullies: "You're just asking to get beat up."

Victim: "Actually, I want you to beat me up. Just not with your fists." They all looked confused.

 "You've already proven you can do that, but the sad part is that none of you can ever defeat me academically. I'll let you harass me all you want, but only if you can get a higher grade than me on Friday's exam.

All of them looked extremely hesitant and confused at one another.

Victim: "You can't do it? I thought real men don't back down from any challenge."

Bullies: "We aren't! Come on y'all. This Friday, we'll make you eat those words."

As the main bully let him go, they left. Friend approached Victim

Friend: I can't believe you did that. At least you didn't get beat up, but won't they just come back and fight you if they pass?

Smart Victim: Not necessarily. If they pull it off, they might be so overjoyed that they'll actually forget about hurt me.

Friend: Why not just take karate and get back at them?

Smart Victim: Easy. I'll be so driven to improve that I'll eventually reach a high level, beat the crap out of them, inspire a ton of other victims to join me, and then we become the bullies, which will mostly likely lead to an all out fight that leaves at least one of us in the hospital. That's work.

Friend: Has anyone ever told you that you're lazy and diabolic at the same time?

Smart Victim: No, why?
