Throughout the last few months, Cedric and I got super close, I'd even say he's one of my best friends, of course along with the twins being my other two best friends. I haven't been seeing the twins as much because we're not in the same house, Hufflepuffs have Charms and Transfigurations with Gryffindors. Cedric understands that those are the lessons I don't sit beside him because I sit with the twins. Hufflepuffs have Flying and Defense Against the Dark Arts (DADA) with Slytherins, which is always funny when a slytherin tries to intimidate a Hufflepuff because we all stand as a united front and they're put back into their place. It's only Hufflepuffs in Herbology and History of Magic. We also have Potions and Astronomy with Ravenclaws, which could be a lot worse. I wouldn't admit it to anyone but I'm fairly smart. I've been getting close with a Ravenclaw girl as we both help Cedric out when he starts to fall behind a little.
Besides going to lessons and doing homework, Cedric and I try to meet Fred and George in the courtyard Wednesday evenings to play Gobstones and we spend Saturdays helping them with pranks, well Cedric really just watches and he usually disappears around lunch to spend time with his other friends. We don't mind, I understand that, just like the twins, he's much more popular than me. I have become somewhat popular solely because I'm close friends with Fred, George and Cedric, it's mostly just girls that are interested in them that talk to me. Either way, I'm keeping up in my classes while maintaining my friendships with some of the most popular boys in Hogwarts.
"You look worried, what's bothering you?" George asked as I sat in the courtyard with Cedric right behind me.
"Rayne, George is right, you've looked worried all day, please tell us what's going on." Cedric added on.
"This is a time when I need some girl friends." I said, trying to give them a hint that it's not something they'd understand.
"What do you mean? Why would you need girl friends when you have us?" Fred asked jokingly and somewhat seriously.
"You guys don't give up, do you?"
"Not until you tell us what's wrong Rayne." George said, with Fred and Cedric nodding in agreement.
"Fine, I guess you guys would find this out eventually, uh..." I paused, how do you tell 12 year old boys you got your period for the first time? "I, uh, got my... period..." I waited for them to say something or ask another question.
"Ok... do you want a hug?" George said and I could see the confusion on all of their faces.
"Haha, a hug would be nice actually and don't worry, I'm not dying or anything like that, my mom said it just means I'm a woman now." I mean, there's a little more to it than that but that's all they need to know for now at least.
"You got us a little worried there." Cedric said as George pulled me into a hug. Fred and Cedric joined the hug soon after.
"I really am the luckiest girl here, to have you three as my friends." I said, joyfully.
"Let's play Gobstones now guys!" Fred called out.
I have sent my mom a letter with Daisy and she returned with a package. I was a little confused at first, then I opened it and understood. My mom sent me pads, tampons and even a bag of Reese's mini peanut butter cups, along with a little bit of wizard money my dad sent to get some chocolate frogs at Honeydukes.
Cedric and Fred already had other plans that Sunday, so me and George went to find an older student to get my chocolate frogs from Hogsmeade as we wouldn't be allowed to go to Hogsmeade until our third year. Charlie agreed and set out to Honeydukes, got my chocolate frogs and returned to Hogwarts in no time. I gave him a chocolate frog as a thank you for getting them for me. I gave a few to George as well to thank him for spending the day with me.
When I returned to the Hufflepuff common room, I sat on the couch and wondered why George didn't have any other plans, he was just as popular as Fred and Cedric, so why didn't he have someone else to hang out with? I ended up going to bed early because I had cramps. I hope that I wasn't keeping George from hanging out with someone, I should probably make some other friends too.
