Part 6
After driving his bike into an old repair garage, Izuka, along with the entire room, began to sink down like he was in a giant elevator. Once the elevator settled, Izuka left his bike and headed to his dorm. Each unit had a different dorm in each of the six counties they had jurisdiction in. However, each unit tended to stay in one place. Unit HAZE worked primarily in Japan, and Unit ENIGMA was based in Britain. The only country with no solid unit was America. America was mainly for research, training and official meetings.
Upon entering his dorm, Izuka found that Keisaku and Mirai were already there. Mirai was adjusting her box again, most likely trying to fix some minor issue. Keisaku, however, stood and spoke to Izuka.
"You went to see that girl again, didn't you?" He was straight to the point.
"Yes. Now if you don't mind, I have some packing to do." He brushed Keisaku to the side, but he grabbed him by the wrist.
"Packing? Where are you going?" Mirai showed vague interest.
"Britain. I'm staying there for a few days after I talk with Haruke. I have the vacation time, so-"
"So why pack anything? You shouldn't need anything since it's just about half an hour by our train network. And with your card, you can buy anything if you need it." Keisaku then repeated himself, "why pack?"
"Isn't it obvious?" The one who said this was not Izuka; it was Mirai. "He and his girlfriend are going together, so he needs to look normal for her." As much as he did not want to admit it, she had hit the nail on the head. When it came to Marika, Mirai was generally supportive, but Keisaku......,
"You should not be getting close to anyone outside. Just knowing you would put someone in danger." He let go of Izuka's wrist. Izuka started to walk away. "I don't get what you see in her. She's just a store clerk, and her body is far from brilliant. I must say, you have horrible taste, even for a shut-in." He said mockingly.
In an instant, Izuka had grabbed keisaku's collar and forcefully slammed him into a wall.
"Shut up. I may be a member of the underground, but I'm still me. I can't help who I fall for. If you don't like that then perhaps I can just beat you until you stop being such a little bastard!" Even though he wore a visor, keisaku's eye still twitched quite visibly. But that was the extent of his reaction.
"Interesting. It seems that she is an exploitable weakness in you. Then I have a proposition for you."
"?"
"A one-on-one fight. If you win, then I'll shut up about this forever. If I win, then you have to stop this foolishness." His voice was full of confidence .
"Sure!" Normally Izuka would decline immediately if it involved Marika, but as Keisaku had wanted, he answered yes due to his current anger.
"Wait! Keisaku, why?"
"Because he needs to learn how we work. If that means almost killing him then so be it." Two long metal blades extended from his gauntlets.
"Don't sound so conceited, after all, I already beat you once." Izuka pulled out his handgun. The suppressor was still missing from earlier, so the blade was fully usable.
"Guess there's no helping it if you two insist on fighting. I'll just watch."
Keisaku had more advanced technology, but Izuka was faster with his movements. In terms of skill, they were both equally matched.
Keisaku jumped towards Izuka using the help of the strange metal devices on his shoes. He left two small craters to the floor and moved at an extraordinary speed, his blade aimed at Izuka's face.
Izuka nonchalantly hit the blade away with his gun, then went to punch keisaku's face. Using his right foot, Keisaku stopped his assault and aimed a kick this time.
"!" In the little time before impact, Izuka braced himself by trying to block the foot. That foot could destroy buildings, so it obviously did damage. But it did far less damage than anyone would expect. A heavy pain stung his arms, whilst the force of the kick sent him crashing through the door and into the pure white corridor. Giving him no time to recover, Keisaku charged again. Izuka somehow found the energy to move, causing keisaku's blade to become stuck in the wall. Regardless, he still swung his other blade, which was deflected by Izuka.
In the next moment, Izuka jammed to handgun into keisaku's forehead.
"It looks like I win."
"It certainly looks that way." The two metal blades retracted back into the gauntlets. "But remember; last time was an open area with room to dodge."
"!" The second Izuka began to move away, his gun fell to pieces. It had been 'cut' by something. Paying it no heed, Izuka continued to move back.
"Ha. As I thought, you have no defence against my beam claws. Hahahahahaha!" Coming from his gauntlets now were blades of light. Each blade was half the length if the metal one from earlier, but these could cut anything. Having two (one each hand), they looked like claws; hence the name 'beam claws'. This was the pinnacle of the hard-light technology made by Keisaku himself.
Like a savage beast, he repeatedly swung his claws, each swipe causing his opponent to back closer and closer to a wall. Eventually, Izuka was trapped.
"You're nothing." Keisaku swung both of his claws down at once.
In the next moment, Keisaku was lost for words. Izuka had managed to 'grab' the blades of pure light, and stop them from cutting his head.
(How? Why aren't his hands being cut off?) it took a few seconds for him to realise. (His hands, they're-!)
"Increased magnetism to over 13 percent. With that, and reversed polarity, I can repel you electromagnetic blades. Thanks to that, I can 'grab' them." Izuka moved keisaku's arms aside and sent a kick into his jaw. "It was a bit of a gamble though. It was only a slim chance that it would work."
"You-!" In rage, Keisaku swung a claw again. Izuka easily stopped it, and once he tightened his grip, the light dissipated. This time, he was truly defeated. Izuka landed the finishing blow then, punching Keisaku in the visor with enough force to rob him of his consciousness.
