Chapter 2- Winter in Britain

Part 1
Several hours after the plane had taken off, the Channel was in sight. Izuka gazed out of his window to admire the view. This particularly cold winter season had caused parts of the water to freeze over, making for a beautiful spectacle. He thought for a moment about whether or not he should wake Marika so that she could also see the gorgeous stretch of ice connecting Britain to the rest of the world. However, he decided it would be best to let her sleep. After all, she had barely any sleep the night before due to anticipation for this trip.
(And to think; I would've missed this moment had I not brought her along.)
Although Izuka had traveled to different countries before, he usually traveled via the underground high-speed railway. This was his first time travelling in a passenger plane, and his first time travelling with someone else other than other unit members.
But this trip was not just for sightseeing. After seeing Marika to the hotel, he would contact Haruke about the life support suits. Still, that was all he needed to do. After that would be a few days of peace.
He gently stroked Marika's cheek, causing her face to twitch.
"Izu......ka........." She mumbled.
To this, Izuka smiled.
(She calls me Izuka in her sleep, but still not in reality. What a shame. But at least now I have something to tease her about.)
Izuka contemplated sleeping for the remainder of the flight, but decided that there would be no point. They would be landing soon.
Izuka stood up from his seat and carefully manoeuvred himself as to not wake up his sleeping companion.
The plane they were on was similar to an airbus, with a small 'shop' near the cockpit. That shop sold small food items, such as peanuts and sandwiches. Izuka obviously went for a bag of peanuts, but upon seeing how small the packet was, he bought another one.
"Such extortionate prices. All peanuts are the same, so way do these small packets cost more than what I buy from the convenience store?" Voicing his complaints, he opened one of the packets and poured all of its contents into his mouth. As he chewed, he noticed a man walk into the cockpit. But that man was clearly not a pilot, nor a flight attendant. So why did he enter the cockpit? Or more important, how did he enter the cockpit? The only time someone can enter that area is by using a special key card that only certain personnel were permitted to carry. These cards weren't exactly clipped to their waists, so stealing one would be very difficult without the owner noticing.
Nevertheless, the fact still remained: someone, probably a passenger, had walked into the cockpit. Why would they do that? The plane would be landing soon, so there should be no issues. Izuka could only think of one possibility.
(A hijacker? But why act now? The fuel should be almost gone, so we can't exactly go to another country.) then he thought some more. (Terrorists? Could be. Perhaps they're going to crash the plane into somewhere.)
Normally, Izuka wouldn't care about a hijacking. But this situation was different.
Marika was on this flight.
(Dammit. Looks like a need to help.)
