Part 6
Several hours after leaving for his own business, Haruke was wandering the streets of Japan. However, as he walked, he only used half of his brain for himself. The other half was being used to control his swarm. The swarm was currently investigating, and so he was completely alone.
He needed to come to Japan since he could not send signals across the world. His range was 1.5 kilometres spherically in perfect conditions.
But he was a spyglass. All he could do was recon work. He could not access computers or hack networks from afar.
"Damn........"
So when he encountered a problem, he had to do it manually.
"I'll have to go then. I don't care about the higher ups." His steady walk slowly turned into a slow run. He destination was the repair garage that he was in a while ago.
(Why? Why has the harmony cube been used so much recently? All it normally does is keep control of the underground conditions and control A.Is. What sort of simulations are being imputed into that computer?)
After arriving in the all too familiar white labyrinth, he dashed for the cube access room. The harmony cube was not just one computer. It was six. The six computers brought the countries together. So thus it was dubbed the 'harmony cube'.
Although they were all connected, each cube did calculations separately, but monitored the use of the others. This meant that Haruke could notice increased use in Japan from England, but needed to travel to Japan to read the requests and reports.
He stopped in his tracks before coming to the door. Two armed men were vigilantly guarding the room. It was unlikely they would let him pass, even if he was wearing a lab coat.
(Sorry about this.)
A few seconds later, the men collapsed.
He had sent impulses into a certain part of their brains, rendering them momentarily unconscious.
He carefully stepped over their bodies and opened the door.
Inside was a mere cubic room with just a single chair and screen that was on a stand coming from the floor. In contrast to the whiteness of the entire underground, this room was pure black.
No access key was needed to view the cube's records, so he easily found the history of what had been done. The point where he started to notice the increased usage was a few days back. He found the corresponding date and read the contents.

-DemonHeart has been revealed. The unit of ENIGMA successfully dealt with the technology, not questioning the purpose or true function. This completes the initial testing faze and observation of the primary unit. The next stage should commence soon.-

The mysterious words only made him more curious, so he moved on to the next few documents. He found information regarding the units and different phases of testing for seemingly unrelated pieces of technology.

DemonHeart, exo-bodies, a clean and portable power source, and other such things.

But once the date reached the day before this day, it became more interesting.

-as planned, the primary unit and secondary unit will be converging in Japan, leaving England open to attack. However, due to an unpredicted factor, Tsubachi Izuka will be remaining in England until the primary unit returns. Without alterations, the plan cannot proceed further.-

That was the final report. With Izuka in England, it looked like the unknown problem would go away.
Haruke was about to stand up when he heard a noise come from the computer. It was a new report. Sweat dripped from his face for some reason as he clicked on the report.

-in order to proceed with the plan, minor alterations have been made. In order to continue, Tsubachi Izuka must be killed before or during the next stage. The best result would come from using one of the subjects born of the underground projects. As the subject of the human evolution project is the only one that answers to commands obediently, they shall be sent to kill the target, instead of her original objective of causing as much destruction as possible.
They shall deploy at 12:00pm, 28th November, as originally planned.

"What............" Haruke stepped away from the computer, "what the fuck is this!? We were all used!? They did all this just to attack England!? The fuck is wrong with them!?" He turned around, running to a new destination.
He checked the British time.
11:39am.
(Crap! Izuka-senpai, be careful!)

In the past, the underground underwent many projects to aid their technological advancement.
'Ethereal shift project'.
'Induced esper project'.
'Human evolution project'.
'Mental separation project'.
'Artificial slider project'.
These were just a few of the many projects undergone. Haruke was the subject for the 'mental separation project'. The project looked at giving humans the ability to divide their conscience and to live in multiple bodies at once. This project allowed Haruke to perfect his nanobots, but he hated the project. Part of his brain had been removed for the project and so, his sense of smell and depth perception were inside his swarm. He himself was amazingly weak.
He also oversaw some of the other tests. One of these was the 'human evolution project'.

And that was why he was running so fast. He knew what that project was, and the result. Wherever Izuka was at 12:00pm, there was bound to be a lot of destruction.
Haruke prayed desperately as he jumped onto the high speed train.
The journey would take thirty minutes. Izuka would need to hold out for ten minutes against the monster.
(Please, hold on. You can't beat that monster.)
