Part 2
"Unfortunately, no one here knows how to put someone under with hypnotism." Haruke said to Izuka, who was sat in the middle of a plastic room on a wooden chair, with his hands bound by rope. "So as an alternative, I will administer an electric shock to knock you out. That okay?"
"I don't care. As long as it works."
"Okay. My swarm will deliver the shock directly to your brain."
"Swarm? Aren't those magnetic?"
Haruke's head shook from side to side. "Not these ones. I made some out of different materials after your little visit yesterday. There should be no problems."
They both nodded to each other.
After a few seconds of silence, Izuka felt a sudden jolt in his skull. The electric shock had likely been administered. His consciousness slowly faded.
Haruke stared at the unconscious Izuka. His eyes were closed and his breathing slow.
Suddenly-
"Ow! Why would you do that!?" He burst into life, shouting at Haruke in a voice he had never heard before. This was likely the 'other Izuka' that had fought with the weaponised cyborg: Cerebra.
"Are you........the original?"
"No!"
"I see. So the electric shock didn't wake up your other consciousness.........."
"I didn't say that. I said I ain't the original, but I am the other Izuka."
"Huh?" Haruke was shocked by his answer.
'Not the original'.
"So, who is the original?"
"That would be mister serious, who I am sure you are acquainted with already."
(But Izuka-senpai said that this one was the original...... This is just making my head hurt.)
Haruke decided to drop the matter of Izuka's psychology and to focus on the reason for calling out the 'other Izuka'.
"You know of Cerebra?"
"Of course! That weak bitch barely put up a fight, although I never actually gave her a good chance. Her kindness really did put her in a bad position."
"Kindness?" He tilted his head.
"I don't know the ins and outs, but the cyborg bitch could have killed Mr serious, but instead chose to render him unconscious. Bad move on her part, eh!?"
(Cerebra........spared Izuka-senpai? Why?)
"Hey." Haruke's thoughts were interrupted by the annoyingly sinister voice of a killed. "So, why did you go to the trouble of getting me? Don't tell me it was just for that!"
".............." That was a good question. Why did Haruke go through all the trouble of bringing out the killer? "What happened to Cerebra?"
"Hm? Unfortunately, I was too kind. I let her live, giving her the opportunity to get stronger. She is the only one I know who can give me a run for my money! Did you know she can regenerate?! What an interesting opponent! Ahahahaha! So much fun to be had!"
"Regenerate?"
"Hah! So you didn't know! Well, you do now!"
"She could regenerate, and yet you still defeated her?" Haruke's confusion and shock were both building as the conversation went on.
"Well, I can't take full credit. Mr serious set up the perfect battlefield."
"Meaning?"
"There were weapons all around me! Have you ever used a steel cable as though it were part of your body? Well you should try it!"
"Steel cables?"
"That's right! Normally, the process to turn iron into steel affects the magnetic properties. However, with the brilliant technology made by Mr serious and myself, that doesn't matter! Even a small magnetic field is enough!" Then, Izuka's face twisted into a menacing smile. "Actually, I just thought of something wonderful!"
"?"
"Did you know, that blood contains trace amounts of iron? So, if I had the magnetic power and could perform the calculations necessary, I could manipulate the direction of your blood flow. I could easily kill anyone I wanted!"
Unknowingly, Haruke had already begun to step back in fear. A cold sweat fell from his brow, all from fear of this killer, who had defeated a weaponised cyborg single handedly. If what he said was true, he could easily kill Haruke right now. And since the two personalities shared knowledge but not memories, the killer Izuka would have no reason not to kill him. He and Haruke were not acquainted. This was technically their first meeting.
All of this information was summed up by the look in the eyes of the killer. It was more than just a look of killer intent. It was a look that was vacant of mercy, and spewed uneasiness to any living thing that were to meet its gaze.
"What are you so scared of?" His evil look vanished instantly. "I said I could do all that IF I had the power and could perform the calculations. Right now, I have neither the calculative ability or the power, so you're safe. I could try, but at most I'd give you a minor blood clot, and drain my battery." The killer relaxed in his chair, and seeing this, Haruke also relaxed his shoulders, also letting out a thankful sigh. "However, I can do this." Suddenly, the rope that bound his hands together snapped, having been put under a tremendous amount of tension.
"W-what-!?"
"I set my gloves to repel each other at ten percent capacity. The rope easily snapped." The killer grasped each of his wrists and moved his hands around. The act of pulling apart a rope tied around his wrists would have been incredibly painful, if not for Izuka's suit. It did, however, sting slightly.
"No way............" Haruke felt weak compared to this person. This person could fight off a cyborg, perform physical acts that would be impossible to many and, reportedly, stop a structure as large as the London eye from falling using his power alone. Meanwhile, what could Haruke do? Haruke was supposed to be a member of the strongest unit, but Izuka alone could easily surpass that unit.
"You're probably feeding your inferiority complex right now, right?"
"Eh?"
"No need to beat yourself down. You have your own talents, whereas I have mine. I don't think I could've gone through the experiments you were put through." The killer placed his hand on Haruke's head and ruffled his hair.
"I don't get your personality at all..........." Completely ignoring the killer ruffling his hair, Haruke muttered to himself. "One minute, you're a psychotic maniac, and the next, you're a really nice guy..........."
"Hm? Oh, that happens. It's an early sign that I'm being repressed again. Mr serious starts to decide my actions, but I'm still the one here. It just means that he will be back soon."
"Please, before you go, let me ask you something."
"Go ahead."
"Did Cerebra let anything slip about who sent her, or what their main goal was?"
"Nothing."
"Really?"
"Really. That girl was sure not to give away anything."
"I see. Well, thank you for helping me."
"Are you sure? By the sounds of things, I didn't really help much at all........."
"No no, it's fine! We don't have much to go on, but we still have something!"
"Such as?"
"I'm going to trace the trading route of Cerebra; see who currently owns her. Perhaps they are involved somehow."
"Well you do that. I'm going back to Marika-chan; she must be hiding the shock of it all."
"? Wait, aren't you-?"
"My consciousness has regained control. The killer is back inside somewhere." Brushing Haruke to the side, the 'normal' Izuka made his way to the door. But when he reached the door, he stopped abruptly.
"I never want Marika-chan to find out about him." He narrowed his eyes, focussing on something that was not there. "Never." With that, he left, with Haruke speechless. That voice had a time that Haruke had never head from Izuka. It made that used by the killer pale in comparison.
"Senpai............. Don't worry senpai, I won't let her find out."
