People believed he was behind the attack and he was, but he didn't show up for real. Basically, Konoha won. Sasuke stayed home. And Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke were promoted, so they were Chunins.
Orochimaru has been missing since the exams, but he was missing even before that, and everything has been normal...

Seems a little cliché, don't you think? The girl who lost her parents...? Grief, sorrow, tears, breaking down... Someone who helps her all along, someone who saves her from the dark. I've heard tons of stories about the same thing - how someone falls into something they can't get out. Because of the loss. Because of the sadness that never leaves their hearts. Because they thought they would never escape, never get back on their feet.
But... I'm not like those stories. I'm different. I'm ready to become a Kunoichi. That's the only way... That's what I want. And I'm ready to choose the path that was destined to me!
That's what I tell myself every single morning before I get out of bed and go to training. I never stopped since I lost them.
"Orinai, you're daydreaming again!"
I tossed a bit and tensed my muscles. The shurikens felt cold between my fingers, but I didn't mind. I did that stupid thing again - daydreaming! I shook my head, my face looking really guilty.
"I'm sorry, Sensei!" I said, gently touching my nape.
Kakashi's glance was as calm as ever. Behind me, that tall tree that was scratched in the middle was throwing a big shadow over my body, making my big, purple eyes shine. Next to me, Sasuke was taking deep breaths, because he had just jumped off the trunk. His kunai was shimmering in his hand and he was preparing to try again.
