"How romantic..." Orochimaru rolled his eyes. "I'm sorry to interrupt your sweet moment..."
And then, he frowned. His grin turned into a devilish one.
"But, the real fun begins..."
Kakashi and I didn't wait for Orochimaru to make the first move. We jumped towards him, our weapons at the ready. My mind was in a constant battle - I had faith in our strength, but I was still aware of the fact that Orochimaru was stronger than us, that he could kill us. Kakashi mimicked all his hand seals and Orochimaru stopped, changing his mind and starting another technique. Kakashi sighed and started to copy that as well, even if using his Sharingan was a bad, bad option.
It was only a matter of minutes before he collapsed again on the floor. I hoped he would hold on at least until the Blue Bird was starting to wake up. Orochimaru seemed to sense my fear and he faced me.
I attacked him with two clones and he had to stop from performing any jutsu - he hit my clones with his snake-hands and I got what I wanted - to approach him.
I almost laughed at myself: me and Kakashi were so stupid... to think we could actually beat Orochimaru by ourselves. It would have been a miracle if we managed to stall enough for that magic to appear.
"Orinai! Now! Catch him!" Kakashi said, running to Orochimaru, his hands doing a Fire style seal.
"Shadow Possession Technique!" I yelled, getting closer and closer to my enemy. Luckily, that small sun ray helped me perform it.
My veins pulsed all of a sudden.
My shadow caught Orochimaru's legs, but didn't last for long. It lasted only three minutes, in which Kakashi attacked him with his shurikens. Then, he blew fire out of his mouth, but that was the last move he was able to do, because Orochimaru freed himself from my jutsu and put his hands together. It all happened too fast - two sharp sound waves hit me and Kakashi, slamming both of us against the walls. I groaned, feeling my spine buzzing. My head was hurting and my arms felt numb.
"Argh!" Kakashi moaned, quickly getting up. He stumbled a bit, touching his Sharingan eye, as if it hurt him.
My head was so dizzy I could barely see what was surrounding me. It was pulsing. My ears were hit by a sharp sound. For one moment, I remembered everything that had happened - Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto were all unconscious on the floor, but they were not dead. I was nearly passing out and Kakashi, well... I couldn't see him well.
I started to think we were going to lose.
"Now..." Orochimaru hissed.
Three long snakes came out of his mouth, speeding in my direction. They were hissing and splashing poison off their tongues - it was such a creepy sound and I heard it like an echo. I was still getting up, trying to recover from the previous attack.
