"How come the Blue Bird is so nasty in real life?"
I sneered at Sasuke, who was still complaining. He was hanging upside down, in the Bird's claw and he had his hands crossed. We were high in the air, all of us, except Sasuke, on the Blue Bird's back and she was flying back to Konoha, above the forests.
"How come you can't shut up even when you're in a life threatening situation?" the Blue Bird asked, looking down at Sasuke.
She shook her claw and Sasuke didn't even blink. I burst into laughter, moving closer to her neck. Kakashi was leaning on his back, admiring the clouds, Sakura and Naruto were looking at the forests underneath us and my parents were talking to each other.
"Ori, can I drop him?" Blue Bird asked, blinking softly at me.
"No, you can't!" I tapped her fluffy feathers. "Can you handle him until we get home, please? For me..."
She puffed and stopped shaking her leg. Sasuke rolled his eyes. Then, the Bird looked at me and offered me a big smile. "It's because we're one, Ori. If I hadn't been linked to you, the Uchiha kid would have already been flying."
"Technically, I am flying."
Blue Bird frowned at Sasuke.
"Oh, come on, Sasuke!" Mom said, interrupting her conversation with Dad. "We're going home! Aren't you excited?"
"Well, if they give me food, I'll be fine!" Blue Bird said, gliding with elegance.
I blew some strands out of my eyes and walked on her fluffy back towards my parents. They both caught my hands as I sat next to them. "I'm so excited... I can't wait to see Iru! And you two must be nervous about meeting The Hokage..."
Father rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, if he still remembers us..."
"He does, believe me!" Kakashi said, rolling toward us. He rested his cheek in his palm. I couldn't help but let a stupid smile take over of my face. "He talks about you so often. You know, these five years have been harsh for The Third, he continued to search for you. He even asked the ANBU troops to search for you, but I guess Orochimaru was smarter that time. Don't worry about it - he'll be more than happy to see you."
