The forest path was dusty and warm.
We were pretty far from Konoha, as we have been walking for almost an hour. I wasn't tired at all - after those words Iruka had said to me, I felt strong again. That battle between worries and courage had stopped and now, I felt brave. My lips were staying in a constant smile and I was looking around every ten minutes, to verify if there was any problem we might encounter.
It was like a sparkle had lit inside of me and I felt ready to fight. I just hoped I was going to manage everything that could've happened. Hopefully, not losing my friends and not losing my life... I put away those thoughts and I remembered what Iruka and The Third told me. I couldn't let the doubts take me down.
Just wait and see, Ori. You're going to do just fine. Don't start now...
"This is awesome!" Naruto said, walking next to me.
"Stop yelling, please!" Sasuke mumbled, gazing at Naruto.
"I'll try!" Naruto laughed. "But I'm so freaking excited! Believe it! Aren't you excited, Ori?"
I nodded, offering him a closed-eye smile. Sakura caught her backpack's straps and smiled as well. I watched my team - they seemed really relaxed, like they knew exactly what to expect - like they couldn't be bothered by anything. Kakashi was walking in front of us, his hands in his pockets. Sasuke was sharpening his kunai and Sakura was just admiring the view. Of course they were calm... They had been to missions before. Lots of times before I joined.
"I think I should tell you the same stuff I usually tell you when we're on mission, right?" Kakashi said, bored.
Now, I was walking right behind him and I saw Sakura and Sasuke paying attention at what he was saying. Naruto seemed to be thrilled by almost everything that was happening...
"We shouldn't let our guard down. Never do that, okay? We can talk and everything, but we still have to be careful at everything that surrounds us!" Kakashi spoke, raising a hand.
We all nodded and Naruto approved with a grin. I giggled a little - he was always so excited to go and fight something. I knew his dream... to become the Hokage. I was really proud of him, because he was way stronger than one year ago. But the fact that he was yelling so much, in excitement, could attract the enemies. That was the only thing that worried me. Besides that, I felt lucky to know that Naruto was with us. His powers were ten times stronger than mine. I trusted him with my life.
"So... About that enemy... Kakashi-sensei, what do you think?" Sasuke asked, his deep voice making Sakura blush, who was right next to him.
