I sighed and waited for this woman to start talking. I can forgive her, it's not that deep, to be honest, I just want a valuable explanation as to why she treated me the way she did. Tosin sat next to me, I love her bro. She's there for me when no one else is. I mean Nathan is always here for me, whenever I need him, but it's nice to have a female to talk to at all times and not just a male. "So, are you going to start talking or just stare at her?" Tosin asked, her voice dripping with attitude.
"Who even are you?" My mum chuckled.
"Someone who's done more for me in the past six months than you ever have in the past sixteen years." I screwed her. She's like forty years old acting like a kid.
"Okay. Sorry Faith. I don't really know where to start, a lot was going on in my life when I had you. Believe it or not, your father and I were not on the best of terms. He was cheating for such a long time. I just gave birth to you and he was barely at home. When I had asked him why did he cheat so much, he said it was because I was pregnant and he needed entertaining. I blamed you for my marriage nearly falling apart, which I shouldn't have done and I'm truly sorry Oyin." I could tell she was close to crying. I stood up and walked over to her so I could hug her. I feel bad now. I should've listened to her from the jump instead of making her feel like shit.
"I'm so sorry mummy," I said as I hugged her.
"You have nothing to be sorry for. I love you." I looked at her and saw her smile, it made me smile as well. This is the first time in such a long time she's ever said she loves me.
"I love you too." I smiled even more. I'm ready to start a relationship with her now.
"Aww, y'all are cute or whateva," Tosin said in a little American accent. "I'm Tosin by the way."
"Ohh yeah, you're the person Nathaniel said he's going to marry." she chuckled, someones in love, both of them are, to be honest. That's scary. Could never be me lol.
"Oh, he's been talking about me to you?" She laughed and nodded.
"He's obsessed. Thank you for being there for my daughter when I wasn't available."
"It's nothing. She's like my little sister, I have to be there for her."
"So you're Nigerian abi?"
She nodded, "Yes auntie, fully Nigerian."
"Yoruba?"
I laughed a little, "Yes auntie." She started talking in Yoruba, I didn't know what the fuck she was talking about. I do not understand Yoruba or Twi. I should learn, but I'm too lazy.
