It was still dark when you got up. The air was alive with the sounds of cicadas and boys snoring. You groaned as your eyes were assaulted by the light of your phone. 4am.

You wanted to leave at around 4:30 so that around the time you were up near the mountains, the sun would be rising. That's how you always liked these trips. Enjoying the little things.
Silently you got ready for the day, having a quick shower and getting dressed in something cool and comfy for the drive.

You stepped over Reiner's snoring, sleeping form and made your way to the kitchen, making coffees for the boys. Once they were all ready you proceeded to wake them all up.

With a tap, Reiner bolted forward as if he'd just waken up from a nightmare. "Oh... good morning (Y/n)." He yawned and patted your arm. You smiled and he got up with your help. "I'll wake Colt up."

And so he went to the kitchen, filling up a glass of cold water and pouring it down on Colt's face, the man spluttering and cursing at 4:40am.

Marcel woke up to a light shaking, his snores being cut off as he opened his eyes. "Ugh, it's so early." He rolled over. You sighed, grabbing him by the blanket and pulling him off the bed. He landed with a thump and a curse, shooting you a glare before getting up to wake his brother up.

Eventually, everyone sat at the dining teable, drinking their coffe and chatting idly as you went over your final preparations in the form of a mental list.

"Food? Check. Water? Check. Esky? Check." You muttered, checking things off of your list.

"Shes taking this trip really seriously." Colt murmured as he was nursing his hangover.

Marcel laughed. "You remember what happened when Reiner and Bertholdt were in charge of packing last time?"

"Oh for god's sake that was ages ago." Reiner groaned into his coffee. "Let it go."

You were flitting around now trying to get everything out into the car. All of the boys put their coffee down to help. Around five minutes later you were all standing around a large esky. Everything else was in the car. It contained all the food and drinks for the road trip up.

"Dammit." Reiner cursed and ran his hand through hair. Meanwhile you were almost in hysterics and Marcel was trying to console you. Colt was sprawled across the ground exhausted.

"Put it in the back seat." Porco suggested. They all turned to him. "The van takes three people, right? And the truck takes seven but at least four of those seats will be taken by luggage. We have enough seats for everyone." He picked up the esky and gestured for someone to open the door. You scurried over and with a grunt he settled it on two of the back seats.

"Colt's coming with me." Reiner grabbed him by the collar and took him over to the van.

"W-wait but I wanna go with (y/n)!" His cries were ignored as he was strapped in like a baby by Reiner.

"Then Porco and I will go with you (y/n)!" Marcel smiled. "It's a smart plan as we don't want Pocko and Reiner to fight." He murmured the last part making Porco growl in anger and you snickered.

You all left at 4:50am after making sure the house was locked up and you had everything. Which took a while longer than you had hoped but you were still bubbling with anticipation for the coming weeks, despite the early hour. You drove with Marcel was in the passenger seat and Porco in the back. Driving through the city at this time was peaceful, and was still a little dark out as the sun hadn't made its appearance. The faint sound of drumming in the back after the first twenty minutes was what caused you to ask Marcel to plug his phone in and play some music. With the hum of music you were soon going into the mountains as the sun rose. Streaks of orange and pink splashed across the sky and faded the sky to a light lavender. There were few clouds, and the mountain-scape made it a picturesque view. Porco in the back took pictures with the shutter on, letting you know that it was worth coming this way this early. It put a smile on your face knowing that he was enjoying it at least enough to take pictures. The slight humming in the back caught your attention, as a song you were particularly fond of came on. You looked at Marcel and he smiled and nodded. You turned it up slightly and started singing along.

The three of you were jamming out as the day wore on, getting to about 8am before you groaned.

"Marce, please call Reiner and let him know that were stopping off to eat. I'm going to cry." You hit your head in the wheel as you cried out.

"Eyes on the road idiot. I'm not planning on dying on this trip thanks". Porco leaned over and said. Marcel called Reiner and relayed the information. Ten minutes later you were all sitting at the table of a cafe.

"Gah! Reiner was so boring! He didnt talk to me or anything!" Colt said as he chewed through his pancakes.

"Well excuse me for not wanting to crash the freaking car, Colt." Reiner glared at him. You giggled and Porco rolled his eyes a slight smirk playing on his lips. idle chatter was made as you guys enjoyed an early breakfast on the mountains. The fresh air was a pleasant change to the smog of the city you grew accustomed to. It was peaceful and the group of young people filled the air with happy chatter. About an hour later everyone decided it was time to get a move on. Everyone sorted themselves out and was in the car ready to go at about 9:30am. Until Marcel got out of the car with no explanation. Puzzled, you turned to look at Porco, who had resumed his place in the back seat. He gave you a look that said "Don't ask, I don't know," which caused you to turn around and sigh. Reiner, who was stuck behind you, got out and jogged over.

"Hey! Whats going on? Wait wheres Marcel?" You sighed again in exasperation and told him that you didn't know. Porco clicked his tongue in annoyance. The three of you turned as the van door opened and Colt stuck his head out.

"What the hell is taking so long?" He asked, clearly annoyed that he was stuck with Reiner again to your amusement.

"Marcel disappeared!" You relayed the information back to him, earning a very faint and muffled screech. This caused you to snicker as you made eye contact with Porco who looked mildly irritated but amused.

"I'm back!" Marcel's eager voice rang out and everyone turned to look at him. He was carrying a takeaway cup tray, and a cup in his hand.

"Oh for the love of god. Finally." Porco shook his head and Reiner just sighed.

"I got everyone smoothies!"
