It was early morning when you woke up, the few and faint rays of sun filtering into the van. You yawned, stretched and quietly crept out as you didn't want to wake Porco and... you peeked over to look at the other sleeping figure that was holding onto Porco's leg.
Marcel.
You snickered and snapped a few pics before leaving the van. Grabbing some clothes and toiletries you went to go have a quick shower and get changed. On your way out you met Colt who was asleep in the last unpacked camper chair, Kurama on his lap. You took a few pictures of the sight before and made sure to get a couple of the slowly rising sun.
The water in the showers was colder than you would've liked it to be so you were rather faster than you thought you expected. Pushing your wet hair out of your face you looked around the campsite to see what needed to be packed up and put away.
The boys seemed to have handled everything except for the rooftop camper which you supposed that Reiner was sleeping in and the last chair the Colt had claimed as his bed for the night. You smiled and made your way to the waterfall with a book in hand to pass the time until everyone woke up.
You had decided that you'd get brunch on the way back home so there was no need to cook and make more mess or unpack anything the boys had put away. Sitting in the sun, you opened your book to read. You got about three pages in when your thoughts moved along, past the contents of the book.
Porco.
You sighed, tracing the grain of the rock below you as you allowed your thoughts to run off.
You didn't understand why you felt so attached to him. You hadn't ever spoken to him before this trip and the only interactions you'd have with him back in high school was a few nods and waves here and there. So it made sense as to why your sudden interest in him bothered you.
He was attractive but that definitely wasn't the reason why. You let out an exasperated sigh and flopped back, making sure to not hit your head too hard on a rock. Watching the clouds drift across the sky you groaned. Stupid attractive man, stupid feelings and-
Your thoughts were cut short by the cacophony of bushes being trampled and muttered curses. You turned to see Reiner and Marcel matching their way over to you, one with an annoyed expression and the other with a pleased grin.
Marcel grumbled as he fell down onto the rocks next to you causing Reiner to snort and chuckle. You raise an eyebrow at the current moods of the two before you.
"Morning?" You asked rather curious as to what the two had been talking about. Marcel huffed and scrunched his nose, a thing he'd do when he was annoyed.
"Morning petal." Reiner grinned and patted your head before allowing his had to fall to your back where he rubbed it soothingly. Something he'd usually do when you were crying.
"What's got you thinking so hard?" He asked. You sighed, looking up to the sky and the barely risen sun.
"It's nothing." It really didn't strike you as anything you needed to talk about so you didn't reveal it. Marcel turned to you, offering a warm, comforting grin.
"Just know that we're always here for you. We all care about you and are more than happy to hear about your problems." He nudged your shoulder gently, causing you to lean into Reiner more. You smiled softly at the two of them. All of them, Colt included had always been reliable. They were there for you when your own blood wasn't.
You brought your arms around their necks, pulling them into a hug and ignoring their protests.
"I'm so lucky to have you guys." You whisper, just loud enough that they could hear. They relaxed in your rather crude embrace, looking at each other before back at your calm expression.
"Always."
"Cute moment there but like can we go? I'm hungry." Colt's voice called from behind you and you jumped causing Marcel's head to hit Reiner's.
They both groaned in pain whilst you profusely apologised, leaving Colt to cackle.
You roll your eyes at him and walk over to him, hitting him on the head before embracing him gently, cautious of the creature in his arms.
"We're not actually taking that thing with us, right?" Marcel asked. You broke away from Colt with a sly smile.
"I think she'd make a good companion on this trip."

Porco followed the sounds of your laughing voice, a soft expression on his face. He watched as you laughed with the others, a tightness building up in his chest. He want jealous but rather mad at himself.
He wanted to make you laugh and smile like that.
He clicked his tongue as if it could banish the thoughts from his mind.
"Slow down. You only just met her." He muttered to himself before walking out to join the rest of the group.
"Oh morning Pock!" You greet, craning your neck to look up at him. He nods curtly before nudging Marcel with his foot. Marcel gave him a "Can you not?" Look before moving over so Porco could sit between him and you.
"It's like a failed slow burn fanfic." Colt whispered to Reiner with an amused smile. Reiner wheezed and watched you laugh with Porco, Marcel sitting sullenly to the side.
A little while later, everyone was ready to leave and get food.
"I'm hungry." Reiner said for the fifth time that morning as he entered in the driver's side of the van. Marcel groaned and chucked a bag of chips at his face before hopping in the van.
"Ugh do I have to come with you guys?" Colt groaned, holding Kurama. Marcel flinched at the appearance of the creature.
"Nope it's okay. You can go with them." Marcel gulped and pointed at you and Porco; the two of you arguing about who was going to be driving once again.
Colt walked over, making Porco pause and turn his head.
"Marcel doesn't want Kurama to go with him so can I-"
"No." Porco cut him off with a glare. Colt blinked before widening his eyes, a slight feeling of fear climbing its way to his stomach at Porco's intensity.
"Yeah it's okay! Don't listen to Pock." You smiled, Colt gulped and shook his head, Porco still glaring at him.
"It's okay. I'll uh just go with them." He backed off and walked away to the car.
You raised a brow at his behaviour until you turned to see the expression on Porco's face. You rolled your eyes playfully to which he returned by scooping you up and placing you in the passenger's seat before racing to sit in the driver's.
He grinned at you and you sighed in defeat, allowing him to drive.
"Need me to navigate?" You asked as he started the engine after adjusting the seat.
"Nah, I have google maps. He said, looking back and reversing out. He had chosen to wear a singlet today as it was quite warm and you weren't complaining.
"You sure?" You asked as he started driving off in the direction the speaker commanded.
He hummed. "Yeah. You just get some sleep sweetheart."
You felt your heart jump at the name as he gently patted your head. You relaxed into your seat and allowed yourself to doze off.
