June POV:

It was the weekend and I had a date planned with Mia later that day. Before it was time, I decided to meet up with Alex to ask for some advice.

At the coffee shop

I was seated at our table as I saw Alex walk into the coffee shop. I waved him over and handed him his drink.

"So what is it that you needed help with, man?" he asked.

"So basically, I have a date later tonight with Mia-"

"Ugh, dude. You know I don't like that girl. She's gives off weird vibes."

"I already know how you feel about Mia, but, I love her and I wanna make her happy."

"Sigh. Alright alright. So what's up?"

"I wanna make tonight perfect. You've dated a lot of girls so I thought you could give me some advice."

"Ah! Well you've come to the right place. First things first, what does she like?"

"Well...she really likes jewelry. But, I don't think I can afford anything too expensive right now."

"Hmm....Ooh! Why don't you make her something! If you give her something handmade, she'll most likely appreciate it way more than something store bought. It shows that you put sentiment into the gift."

"Wow, that's actually a really great idea! I am pretty good with my hands. Alright, I should probably get started then. I wanna make sure it's ready by tonight!"

I waved goodbye to Alex and ran out of the coffee shop. 

I stopped at a craft store and picked up all the materials I would need and headed home to start.

After about an 1 hour and a half I had finally finished Mia's gift. A handmade bracelet with her favorite colors and initials. My fingers ached a little, but it was worth it if it would make her happy. 

I smiled to myself and got myself ready for our date. I might of went a little all out but I really wanted things to be perfect. I sprayed on some of my new cologne and made my way over to her place.

At Mia's place

I pulled into the driveway noticing another car parked there.

Hmm that's strange, I've never seen that car before.

I shrugged and grabbed her gift before walking up to the door. I knocked but there was no answer. I twisted the doorknob and noticed the door was unlocked.

I didn't think Mia would mind if I just walked in, so I stepped inside. I looked around and couldn't see Mia anywhere. 

I heard noises coming from her room and decided to inspect it. Without thinking I opened her bedroom door.

I shouldn't have.

The sight I saw before me caused me to drop the gift box and my keys onto the floor startling Mia and the man she's was straddling. 

"M-Mia?!"

"June?! It's not what it looks like! I swear-"

My eyes brimmed with tears and I started walking towards the door. 

Mia ran after me and stopped me from exiting the door. 

"Wait! You can't do this to me! I love you June. That guy in there means nothing to me!"

"What do you mean?! You ch-cheated on me! You fucking cheated on me, Mia-"

I never expected what happened next. It all happened so fast.

I felt light-headed and a sharp pain in my nose. I felt blood drip onto my shirt. 

She punched me.

I stared at her with a horrified look at I held my hand to my face.

"M-mia...why...."

"YOU WEREN'T LISTENING! I HAD TO SHUT YOU UP."

I couldn't believe this.

"I LOVE YOU, JUNE! I LOVE YOU AND I WON'T LOSE YOU OVER SOMETHING LIKE THIS! I WON'T LOSE YOU EVER! IF WE EVER BREAK UP IT WILL BE ON MY TERMS. NOT YOURS." She gripped me by my collar as I sobbed heavy tears.

"DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME, JUNE? YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME."

"o-okay. I understand." I said whatever I had to, to make sure she wouldn't hit me again.

"Good." She sighed and hugged me. 

I reluctantly hugged her back. 

I wanted tonight to be perfect. It's just like last time.
