Hi guys as you can tell I quite enjoy writing this story and that's why there's regular updates. I've found myself with so much time on my hands with England being in lockdown.  Feel free to comment any suggestions for where to go with the story. I have some ideas for the upcoming chapters but open to suggestions :) I hope you enjoy the style I prefer quicker shorter chapters but I could try longer ones but less regular if you would prefer that . thanks!

I left the room as quick as I could. Nick had told me I'm to continue training with the team until they find me a suitable placement. I was too embarrassed so I went straight home. Lauren caught me on the way out.

"Hey where you going, what's wrong? Has something happened with Jill?"

"Why do you presume it was Jill, why do you hate her so much?" I shouted back at her in a fit of anger

Lauren was caught off guard. "I don't hate her, I just care about you"

"Well it's not Jill" I said slightly more calmly

"What is it then? How did the meeting go?" questioned Lauren

"Well it's safe to say you'll be down a roommate by the end of the month. They are shipping me off on loan"

"That's ridiculous" she was visibly mad "you had one bad game"

"It's for my development apparently. I'm on my way home, can I have the keys to the car I don't want to get an Uber. I'll come pick you up later"

"Are you meant to leave?" She questioned handing me the keys

"I've got no reason to stay"

Jill must have been in training when I tried phoning her. I really needed someone. I wasn't comfortable being this upset alone in the flat. I packed up my things and got in the car and started heading south back to Bristol. I needed my family around me.

It was such a long journey. I cried almost the entire time. Jill phoned me back just as I  stopped for some food at the services.

"Hey what's up? How was the meeting?"

My response was nothing but tears. Jill could hear me crying.

"Come on, I hate hearing you cry. Please talk to me"

"City don't want me"

"What do you mean, surely that's a misunderstanding"

"They are sending me out on loan"

"Okay, it's okay! This doesn't mean your a bad player you just aren't used to being on a winning team. They probably just need you to get some wins under your belt elsewhere before you come back and thrive in Manchester"

She has such a good way of making things logical. I felt better. "You're the best"

"Promise me you won't let this get you down. It might mean you move closer to me and I can see you more often" this brought a smile to my face.

"That would be amazing if I could go to a London team"

"I'll talk to Joe, never know Arsenal might be interested" she joked "where are you now do you want to FaceTime for a bit I've got an hour until my next session"

"I'd love that but I can't. I'm sat in McDonald's just grabbing some food on my way to see my mum, I'm going to stay there for a few days. Can we tonight tho?"

"Yeah of course. Have fun with your mum and keep your head up. Everything will be okay"

She was the sweetest person I'd ever met. I felt so lucky that I get to call her mine. Speaking to Jill made me feel much better and I started to enjoy the second stint of the drive. It seems like I've spent all my time in the car recently. I was pulling into the driveway when Lauren called

"Hey I hope you are feeling better. Training has finished. Everyone was disappointed when you didn't show up they've missed you this past couple wee..."

I interrupted her "Lauren I'm sorry I'm not going to be able to get you. I've left your car at the flat and taken mine but I'm in Bristol"

"Don't be silly, I'm sure someone can give us a lift home. Say hi to your mum from me"

Oops. I should probably have let Lauren know I was leaving but it slipped my mind. I wasn't intending in staying long down south. After all, I've already missed two weeks of training and if I miss much more my fitness will drop and no club will want me.

My mum was shocked when I walked through the door.

"Well this is a surprise, what are you doing here?"

I explained what had happened and why I've ended up here. Mum thought it best I stayed a couple days and let the family cheer me up. It was so nice being home. Going back to my old room felt strange. I couldn't help but think the moody teenager who lived here wouldn't believe her luck now. I know that this is a set back but thanks to Jill I've got the motivation to use this to better myself.

Maybe I could also use this opportunity now I'm home to tell my family about Jill.
