Chapter 37

This game is being broadcasted live and I just kissed Jill. Not only am I going to be told off for not being professional but there's going to be so much backlash. A load of worries ran through my brain just moments after Jill broke from the kiss.

"What are you doing?" She said laughing at me

All I had to say was "fuck" I was in a panic "I didn't mean to"

Jill carried on laughing, she didn't care she was proud. She eventually noticed that I was terrified. "It will be okay Soph, don't worry about it now we have to finish the game" and just like that Jill stared to regain her seriousness. I admired that she can change mentality so quickly. I tried to do the same by pushing it to the back of my mind until the game had finished.

Once the final whistle blew and we got back into the changing rooms everyone started taking the mick.

"Maybe Lia's not the only one who can't control herself eh Sophie?" Said Katie who was instantly met with a glare from Lia.

"Jill's not complaining" Leah said in response

"Well what can I say" said Jill with a big grin. She winked at me. Maybe she was right and that I should just see the funny side of the situation.

"I didn't want anyone upstaging me on my debut so I had to make sure I was centre of attention obviously" I joked

"Have you ever had a debut that doesn't turn into a scandal?" Asked Viv in reference to the red card incident at city.

"I hope this one doesn't go as viral" i responded

"You'll be lucky, the fans love this kind of thing" said Lisa "they go nuts with any hint of a relationship let alone a confirmation like that"

"Oops" i said laughing

We got on the bus for the short journey back across London. Myself and Jill sat with Katie and Lia.

"So are you actually okay with like everyone knowing?" Lia asked

"It's a bit late now" Said Katie

"Shut up Katie" said Jill "I've never had a problem with it but you were at bit more worried weren't you?" She said deflecting the question towards me

"Yeah I was terrified of people finding out. But if I think about it now that's ridiculous. I'm so happy with Jill and why shouldn't I just get to enjoy that like every other couple" I said

"You're cute" said Jill.

"Someone pass the sick bucket" said Katie

"Honestly you are so annoying I don't know why we let you sit with us" Lia said

"You're life would be boring without me and you know it" Katie responded

"It would certainly be a lot quieter" i said

"I love that you've been here two minutes and you are already bullying me" she replied

I laughed "what can I say, I've fit right in"

"To be honest, it does feel like you've been here a lot longer than you have" said Lia

"That's because Jill talked about you so much it's like we already knew you" Katie said "she's such a simp"

"I will fight you" said Jill towards Katie

"Oh I'm so scared" Katie replied sarcastically

The banter continued all the way back to Borehamwood where we all got in our cars to go home.

"Anyone want to go get dinner" asked Katie

"Go on then" i said

We drove a little further into London to one of Jill's favourite restaurants. I'd only been once before when I came down to London from Manchester to stay with Jill but I had really enjoyed it. I don't know If it was paranoia but I could feel eyes staring at me as the four of us walked in.

"Does anyone else feel watched right now or is it just me" I asked

"Just you, you weirdo" said Katie

We sat and had our meal. On the way back home Lauren tried calling me. I missed her call but texted her. 'I'll be home in 20 minutes I'll call you back'.

Instead of taking Katie back to get her car we set her up in the spare room. Lia was making her bed up whilst Jill and Katie watched tv downstairs. I sat in my room ready to FaceTime Lauren.

"Hey what's up" I said as soon as she picked up.

"Hello" responded various voices, Lauren was sat with Jackie, Janine and Aoife in their lounge.

"Jackie are you ever moving out?" I asked

"Don't give her any ideas we love having her here" said Janine

"Oh I see how it is, nice to know you miss me" i said while laughing

"Of course we miss you" said Aoife "Jackie is so much tidier though"

"Okay so did you just call me to pick on me then" i asked

Lauren responded "no that's just an added bonus. We called to say congratulations"

"For what" I asked

"Going public" said Lauren before Janine added "i honestly never thought you would"

"It wasn't planned" I said

"That makes it so much cuter" said Jackie "so when's the Instagram post coming out"

"Instagram post?" I questioned

"Come on you have to give the fans what they want" said Janine

"By the fans do you mean you Janine?" i said while opening up Instagram on my phone. "My god I've got twice as many followers"

"That's Woso fans for you" said Janine

"What is Woso?" I asked unaware

"Omg do we have to teach you everything?" Said Jackie "I hope Jill isn't being this useless, where is she?"

"Downstairs, shall I get her?" I asked

They all responded in the affirmative so I went downstairs in search of Jill. She was on the landline phone.

"Who is it?" I asked Lia. Lia looked nervous

"It's your parents" she said "I'm sorry Sophie I know you don't want to hear from them"

My heart sunk. I went back onto the FaceTime call and said "sorry guys I've got to go" and hung up.

How did they even get the number?
