We made the short walk back to our current house. I think the visit we made to Lia's place made us feel certain that this move will be the best thing for us. We walked through the front door and into the hallway. On our left we could see Viv and Lisa snuggled up together on the sofa. Nervously creeping into the lounge we tested the atmosphere. Viv didn't seem bothered at all.We sat down across from them and began watching the game they were watching on the telly. Half time came around and Viv went to the toilet. "Have you even told her?" I asked Lisa
"Yeah, i did as soon as you left" Lisa confirmed
"What and she just doesn't care" Jill said a little hurt
"She does care, she said she didn't want to make a fuss because she didn't think it was fair" Lisa explained
I think this made Jill feel better. The idea that Viv was taking Jills feelings into account meant a lot to her.
Nothing more was said on the matter. Once the football had finished we went off upstairs to bed. Jill was in the bathroom brushing her teeth when I got a text from Lauren.
Lauren: hey mate, hope your first day went alright. Miss you!
Sophie: Miss you too! It went much better than my first day at city tbf. Only been here a few weeks and I'm looking at new places to live
Lauren: you and Jill getting your own place already?
Sophie: No way, I don't think we are ready for that yet. We are moving in with Lia Walti
Lauren: is she the Swiss one?
Sophie: yeh ahaha think so
Lauren: Not liking living with Viv and Lisa then?
Sophie: I think it's more of a case of them not liking living with us
Lauren: ahahah you are a bit of a nightmare tbf
Sophie: shut up! You know you miss me
Lauren: True. Hope you do well at the weekend. Do you think you'll get a game?
Sophie: I doubt it, maybe as a sub. Got to earn a spot in the team. There's so many attackers here
Lauren: ahah you'll be fine just work hard
We were playing Tottenham away at the weekend. It's a short journey across London which I was grateful for. I have a big week ahead of me if I want to make an appearance. On paper you would expect arsenal to win confidently against Tottenham but anyone can win on their day so Arsenal wouldn't be taking any risks playing me.
Jill joined me in bed, "penny for your thoughts" she asked
"How am I going to get into this team, don't get me wrong I'm grateful to be here with you but I'm concerned I won't get to play"
"You've completely lost confidence in yourself, when you joined City did you think you were going to play" Jill asked as she cuddled up to me giving me some comfort
"In all honesty I didn't think I would"
"And did you?" She asked
"Well yes, but then they sent me out on loan" I argued
"They sent you out on loan to find your confidence and develop a mentality. I know you will work hard and you will make it into the team" Jill explained "don't worry about it now, we'll get some sleep. We can go in early tomorrow if you want and get some extra training in"
"That's a good idea, you sure you don't mind" I asked
"I love my sleep but I love you more" she said "now shut your eyes and go to bed"
The alarm went off a little earlier the next morning. Jill stirred around before eventually getting up. She tugged me out of bed and into the bathroom to get ready. I was still half asleep by the time we were in the car and on the way to training.
Once we pulled up I sent a text to Lisa telling them they will have to make there own way to training today because we had already left. Jill pulled our stuff out of the car and we headed inside the building. On our way to the changing rooms we saw Joe.
"My god! Early for you Jill isn't it, you aren't due in for another 3 hours" he said
"Sophie is clearly a good influence on me" she replied
We walked through the door.
"Why did you tell him it was my idea?" I asked
"If you take the credit then he will think you are determined to work hard and will consider you more" she explained
"Your so sweet" I said putting my boots on
We made our way out onto the training pitch. We did a few drills. My fitness levels arent at the standard of a professional footballer having let them drop recently. It was important I got the levels back up again. Extra training will be key for this.
We were sat on the side of the pitch when our teammates starting turning up. Kim Little walked past and congratulated us for our efforts. I liked that I was making a good impression on the captain. I knew I couldn't of done this without Jills help so I was incredibly grateful for her.
After Kim was Lia. Instead of going straight inside the building to get ready she diverted and ran towards us.
"How did it go" she asked gritting her teeth
"Absolutely fine" I replied
"Almost too well" Jill said
"Stop being such a wetwipe Jill, she's going to miss you" I said telling her off
"Please tell me you too won't bicker like this in my house" said Lia
"I'm making no promises" I said laughing as Jill pulled a sarcastic sad face
"Go away Lia" said Jill cheekily
Training went well, after the morning session had finished we sat down for lunch. Today was a double day so I furled up knowing that I would be exhausted by the evening.
I sat down with Jill, Lia joined us. "Am I okay to sit here?" She asked before sitting down
"I suppose so" said Jill
"I was thinking-" Lia said before Jill interrupted her
"You thinking wow, first time for everything" she joked"
"Stop being annoying" I told her off "what were you saying Lia?"
"I was thinking that you might want to move in during our day off on Wednesday. I don't see when else we will have time"
"In all honesty, you're right. It won't take us long to move our stuff across" I said
"I think you've underestimated the amount of crap I've accumulated since moving to London" Jill said
"I've been here longer than you Jill, how have you got so much stuff?" Lia asked
"I don't know, let's just move as much as we can on Wednesday. Then on our day off next week we can all go to IKEA" Jill said
"This sounds expensive" said Lia
"All good things are" argued Jill
