Where the wild things are
Season four, Episode twelveESME sat in Dr. Wyatt's office in silence after Meredith finished her session. She and Meredith had both been going to therapy for the past month and a half, and let's just say it wasn't going great at all.
"This is your third session, and you still haven't said anything yet. Now while I rather love the quiet time," Dr. Wyatt told her and Esme smiled slightly.
"Um, my mother told me going to therapy will help me and that It's beneficial, even if you can't let out a single word. Even just sitting and just staring out of space," Esme explained to her, a small smile on her face while Dr. Wyatt narrowed her eyes at her.
"So you thought coming here, sitting, and not talking is going to solve your problems?"
"I don't have problems," Esme reminded her in a defensive tone.
"What brings you here?"
"Look, I'm fine," Esme lied, she never lied but this time it was different, "It's just...like Meredith I haven't been sleeping. Mostly because I keep throwing up at night and it's been over five weeks."
"Five weeks since what?" Dr. Wyatt asked before putting her book down, "Meredith said the same thing."
"Look, I work in this hospital. Sometimes I try to listen to any of the gossip, but this place is very gossipy. I don't normally hear much about you. Only that your the product of one of the best plastic surgeons in the east coast and a three time Harper Avery award winter that comes from a famous family of surgeons."
"My parents are not the reason I'm here," Esme told her with a fake smile.
Oh, yes they are.
"I find that hard to believe. Your father who you hadn't know your entire life, all the sudden appears in your life and works at the same hospital as you. And is also your boss. And you have a mother who's always busy with work as being a famous surgeon. And your telling me their not the reason for you being here?" Dr. Wyatt told her and Esme slowly realized she had a point.
There was also another reason for Esme being there. That reason being Jack.
Exactly five weeks ago he basically broke things off with her. Of course, she told her self not to care since they weren't officially together...but it's been on her mind for weeks.
Before she could speak up, her pager beeped and Dr. Wyatt closed her eyes in disappointment.
"You know, I have to go. I'm in the contest," Esme told her before rushing out the room.
