Moonage Daydream; Remus Lupin

Platform 9¾

As I crashed thru brick wall straight into the busy platform I felt a sense of happiness sweep over me. I had  been here only two months before but  it felt like I was back in first year again. The smell of coal from the train, the sound of excited first years laughing, parents hugging and kissing their children goodbye like it was the last time they would see them, countless i love you's ringing thru the air. 
"Oi!" "Hurry up you idiot you're gonna miss the train!" A voice yelled at me from one of the compartment windows.Sirius.

   As I quickly made my way thru the train to find my friends I crashed suddenly into someone. "Sorry" I murmured. "Watch where your going."  He growled at me in a low stern voice, Severus. He was taller now then he was last year but he still had that same sour  face. "Fuck off Snvillious"  I said shoving past him, I could hear him make a loud disgusted sigh before whispering something under his breath.

     A few moments later I arrived at the compartment my friends where sitting in, I quickly opened the door and closed it behind me before making my way to the nearest open seat, in between Remus and Peter. "Hi" James said smiling cheerfully followed by Sirius, Peter , and lastly Remus.  Merlin. Remus. Had he gotten taller over the summer? or was he always tall? his hair is lighter and he had a few spots of freckles on his face definitely new.

   I wonder what he did over the summer. Should I ask? Maybe... "Hellloooooo, earth to Lizzy" a small voice echoed. I quickly snapped back into reality to see lily standing by the door. " Sorry lils spaced out for a second." "yeah I could tell" she smiled at me. "Can I sit with you guys ? Marlene and Mary wanted privacy".
   "sure" we all nodded in agreement. "Hey Evans, there's a free spot next to me" James gestured to the empty spot he had just made by shoving himself up against Sirius. He eyed the empty spot next to him with a smirk. "I'd rather pitch myself off the astronomy tower than sit next to you, Potter." Lily responded smiling  before squeezing herself in between me and peter almost pressing me against Remus. Sirius let out a quiet chuckle at her remark before returning to his "Quidditch weekly"magazine.

      "So how was your summer liz?" She said making eye contact with me. "It was okay, I mainly just did a lot of reading and swimming." " you?" " It was really good actually...." As she started I could tell she had been absolutely dying for someone to ask. " .... We went to the states for a week! We went to California, New york, and Washington."

    "We also took a bunch  of photos, i'll see if my mum can post me some." "You should've seen Petunia's face when we told her that we where staying a few extra days, she was  practically fuming. Suppose she was mad cause she couldn't phone her precious little vernon."  Vernon was a boy that Lily's sister has recently started seeing, apparently he wasn't all that attractive, and he was rather rude, Lily called it "A match made in heaven."

    She had been joking of course. Lily loved her sister very much but it had gotten harder for them to stay close when she got accepted to Hogwarts and Petunia didn't. Most of the ride to hogwarts was spent either discussing what we did over the summer or just making conversation about pretty much everything. I couldn't help but notice that remus stayed quite most of the ride, he was writing
something down in a journal but I couldn't quite tell what is was. After about an hour more of talking lily and I dozed off, her head on my shoulder, my head on top of hers. We where both shaken awake by Peter asking if we wanted anything from the trolley.

       "No thanks" we responded back in unison. "How much longer is it?" I asked sitting up resting my back against the wall and leaning my head back slightly, Lily kept her head on my shoulder. "Only about 40 minutes" Remus murmured, keeping his eyes glued to his journal. I felt a flurry of butterflies in my stomach, just hearing his voice was enough to make me feel warm all over. "What the hell are you writing in that bloody book moony."

Sirius whined. Remus looked up at him, "It's not a "book" it's a journal, And i'm writing something. obviously." he said rolling his eyes slightly before bringing them back down to the page.
"Hey! don't get pissy with me you git! I was only wondering." "Mhm." Was all he said back.

    "Ok well i'm still tired so someone wake me when we get there, ok?" I said in a quiet murmur to the group, receiving a mix of "ok" and "k"s back. I made a last minute decision  to lean my head against Remus before closing my eyes. He was so warm. His shirt felt soft against my face and it smelled like daisys. I fell asleep a few moments after all the while wishing I could spend the rest of my life in this very moment.

Remus's POV :

"So do you think you're going to finally tell her?" Sirius asked with a smirk. "Tell who what?" I responded flatly looking at him over my journal. Obviously I knew exactly who he was talking about, Elizabeth, god, Elizabeth. She was absolutely perfect. She was funny and smart, we loved all the same things, reading, pulling elaborate pranks,iced coffee even when it was cold out.

Even if they where small things she made them seem so big. The way she walked with such power, her laugh, oh her beautiful laugh and I swear her smile could light up a room. And she never asked questions or made rude comments about my scars, she never bothered me about my life back at St Edmunds. And as well and as good as all those things where she was absolutely gorgeous. She had dark eyes and black hair that went to just above her shoulders, And her skin was so smooth and she always smelled like expensive perfume, the good kind.

"Elizabeth. obviously.So? you gonna tell her or what?" Sirius said snapping his fingers in attempt to regain my attention. It worked. "Er, I don't know maybe." "Hold on i'm gonna see where she is." Sirius said before quickly making his way out of the compartment. "oh come on you've fancied her since first year. it's about time you told her." James said tossing his snitch up into the air and catching it in his hand a few times.

"Nah i'd rather just keep it to myself, it'll just make everything awkward if I told her." I said looking down at my journal again. "How would it make things awkward? she obviously fancies you." Peter said quietly as Sirius re entered. Does she really? I could feel my face getting warm and a strange twisting feeling in my stomach.

All the sudden the door slid open. Elizabeth. "Hi" she said cheerfully making her way in between Peter and I. Why did she have to sit so close to me?! after a few moments of everyone saying hello Lily came in pushing me and liz closer together. It was like I was being tortured, I wanted to move but I felt she might get the wrong idea, so I stayed.

After a little while of Lily sharing what she did over the summer and everyone making little conversations Lily and Liz fell asleep and everything after that was pretty quiet. "Anything from the trolly dear?" A familiar voice beckoned from the doorway Peter shook the girls awake to see if they wanted anything. We all decided against it. All tho I could really go for a chocolate frog right now, chocolate anything really.

A few moments went by I bickered with Sirius a bit over what I was writing in my Journal, it wasn't anything to important just a few ideas for a new prank. Wait. What is she doing?!?? My whole body began to warm up and I got that twisting feeling in my stomach again as she rested her head against my shoulder. It felt strange, her head only pressed slightly against me and she smelled quite nice, I wanted to wrap my arm around her but I thought it best not to.

We'll be at hogwarts soon anyway. What if she really does fancy me? I quickly wiped the thought from my mind. Better not to think about.
