Moonage Daydream; Remus Lupin

Witches brew

"So what happened with Sirius?" Marlene asked as we sat down in charms. "What are you talking about?" I set my bag down and grabbed my book out, "Oh come on you know what I'm talking about you've been avoiding him since his party. Wait did you guys sleep together?!"

A few people next to us turned their heads curiously. "Would you be quiet please" I hushed her, "No we didn't sleep together." I said trying to draw attention away from us. "You are such a bad liar!" She was talking just above a whisper, "Ms.Mckinnon please bring your voice down."

Professor Flitwick beckoned from the front of the classroom. She brung her voice down to a whisper now, "So what was it like?" She asked, my face grew hot and I inched away from her slightly. "It was fine. Can you stop now?" "Ok, ok. Wait I thought you liked Remus."

"I do like Remus. I was drunk when I slept with Sirius, it was a mistake and it's fucking embarrassing so can you stop asking." I tried not to sound mean but I was tired of thinking about it and talking about it made it worse. After class was over I went to the library to study with Mary,Lily, and Peter. Remus had detention and James, Sirius and Marlene went to practice.

"What are you doing your project on?" Mary asked craning her neck to look at Lily's note book. "Dementor's." She replied back, keeping her eyes on her paper. "Ugh I hate those bloody things."

"When have you ever seen a dementor." I looked over at Mary. "Well I haven't seen them in person, but pictures and stuff." "My dad's seen em before." Peter said, from behind his book of Magical Creatures, "He works for the Ministry."

The three of us looked at him, intrigued. "Are they as gross as they look in the drawings?" Mary asked. "Yeah, they have a huge hole in their face's it's nasty." Peter looked happy to have someone listen to what he was saying.

The others talked about their projects for a little while well I sat back and listened, occasionally I would doodle in my notebook. I had already finished the project about a day after we started, I did an essay on giant's. "Hey do you know what happened between Remus and Sirius?" Peter asked, looking at Lily. "No, why what's wrong?"

Lily asked with a curious tone. "I don't know I guess they've just been acting weird lately." I watched the two talk for a little bit about the situation. "I'll talk to Remus later, see what I can find out." Lily said, "Hey Lils I don't think that's a good idea. It's better to just leave it."

I said, Marlene and Remus already knew about what happened with Sirius and I didn't want anyone else to find out. "What do you know something we don't?" She looked at me, laughing slightly. "No, I'm just saying it's better to let them work it out themselves." I tried to avoid eye contact so she wouldn't know I was lying.

"Yeah I s'pose that's a better idea. I just hate when they fight, it sets a weird mood for everyone." Lily brung her eyes back down to her paper and started writing again. I knew why Remus was upset about what happened, I just didn't know why he was so upset. Had it been James or Peter that walked in they would've been weirded out sure, but they would've gotten over it.

And if it was one of the girls they just would have teased me. But Remus was so upset. I guess it's because me and Sirius are like his 'best best friends' and maybe he thought we would leave him or something. That made sense but he acted weird about like Sirius cheated on him. Wait does Remus fancy Sirius?!

At that moment,almost like she could read my mind Mary asked, "Peter does Remus fancy Sirius?" He looked stunned at what she said, "What? No. He fancies  Eliza-" He quickly brung his hand to his mouth. "WHAT?!"

I shouted, "I KNEW IT I FUCKING KNEW IT! YOU SAID HE DIDNT BUT I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT!" Lily stood up pointing her finger at Mary and I. "MS.EVANS I WILL NOT TOLERATE THAT TYPE OF LANGUAGE IN MY LIBRARY KINDLY GATHER YOUR THINGS AND LEAVE." The four of us quickly got our things and left, I didn't say anything I was still in shock, Remus fancies me?

"By the way Evans, I thought he fancied her so." Mary said, the two girls looked over the moon in excitement. "Please don't tell him I told you." Peter begged, he looked terrified. "Don't worry Pete we won't." Lily assured him.

"You guys can finally be together now!" Mary squealed. "Mary!" I said, slapping her arm. "What?! He told us about Remus and you like him too so it's not like it matters."

"You fancy him?" Peter asked, I stayed quiet. "I won't tell him I promise." He assured me, I already knew he wouldn't but it was nice to know for sure. "So are you going to tell him than?" Lily asked, looking back at me. "No, Lily that would be awkward." "No it wouldn't he likes you and you like him- " "Lily! I'm not bloody telling him!" I interrupted her. "Tell who what?" I spun around quickly, almost knocking into Remus. "Nothing, just-" "Liz fancies Jack from hufflepuff." Mary blurted. He looked down at me for a moment and brung his eyes to Peter.

Remus POV

I brung my eyes up to Peter for a moment, he was wringing his hands. "Oh ok." I said. Bloody hell Sirius now Jack? No, that's not fair. She doesn't fancy Sirius.

"So what are you guys up to?" I asked, as we began walking down the hall. "Not much, we where gonna go back to the dorm and smoke, do you wanna come with?" Mary questioned. "Sure sound fun."

I said, walking with them up the stairs to the portrait hole. "Are you gonna smoke with us Wormy?" I asked Peter, "Yeah, if you guys want me too." He said, looking over at the girls for approval. "Of course you can Peter, you're our friend too."

Lily said cheerfully throwing an arm around his shoulder. Liz ran up to her dorm to get the muggle weed. After she came back the five of us went up to Peter and I's dorm, we sat in a circle in the middle of the room. Liz pulled out a small blue and green bowl, putting a small bit on weed in it and lighting.

The bowl was passed around a few times, soon everything became blurry, and fucking hilarious. Mary brung out a bottle of witches brew and we each took a swig. If this was how Elizabeth felt that night with Sirius than fucking hell I would've slept with him to. Hhm Elizabeth, where was she? Oh right.

I looked over at her, she was sitting next to me, laughing and smiling. Her face was bright red and her eyes where only partly opened. She leaned into me, burying her face into my chest. I wrapped my arm around her, setting my hand on her thigh.

She didn't seem to mind it. Soon Sirius, James and Marlene came in and sat down with us. A few minutes passed and we where all high out of our minds. My hand was farther up Liz's leg now, near the inner part of her thigh. We where leaning against eachother, no one seemed to notice, Mary and Marlene were completely captivated by eachother, Lily and Peter where having a very intense conversation about magical creatures and James an Sirius where singing along to a Bowie song that Sirius had put on his record player not to long ago.

Liz lifted her head and whispered into my ear, "I fancy you too." Her breath was hot against my neck and her voice sounded almost seductive. She kissed me on the cheek and rested her head on my shoulder. I definitely wouldn't remember this in the morning.
