"What are you guys doing for valentine's day?" Lily questioned Mary and Marlene, who where sitting across from us in the library. The other two girls looked at each other and smirked. "Okay, ew. Forget I asked." Lily said with a disgusted expression.

"Should we throw a party?" Mary asked a few seconds later from behind her book. "Maybe, ooh we should do like a ball sort of thing. I bet I could get McGonagall on board." Lily said, with a hint of excitement in her voice.

"Yes! I could finally where that dress I got" Mary was talking again, "And I could wear those one heels, ya know the ones that are like a deep purple kinda color?" "Yeah, those look nice on you." Marlene smiled at her, kissing her on the cheek, before getting up, "I have to go to practice for the game tonight but i'll see you guys later." We all waved goodbye as she left the room and Lily and Mary continued talking.

I tuned out their conversation and continued taking notes for divination. About an hour passed and Lily had left with Mary to go and talk to McGonagall about the ball so I was alone at the table in the almost empty library. "Can I sit here?" A  voice asked from a few feet away. I look up to see Regulus, I let out a sigh and said yes.

   He studied in silence for a while before deciding to talk to me, I thought it would be easier to talk to him than to ignore, so I did. "What are you studying for?" He asked, "Divination." "Oh, that's nice. I don't need to study for that, I'm the best in the class." he said it in such a cocky manner he reminded me of Sirius. The two boys where sort of similar in looks, dark black hair, blue eyes, pale skin. They where both extremely over confident and arrogant.

"Don't you have to be at quidditch practice or tormenting a few first years?" I asked, slightly annoyed at his presence. "Nope. Gryffindor has the pitch right now and Crouch is doing the other thing for me." He smiled when he said it, leaning back in his chair.

"And anyway, I actually came to talk to you for a reason"

"Really?"

"Yeah, but you can't tell anyone"

"Ok? I don't see why I would, nothing you have ever done is really important"

"I can't say that didn't hurt but I am willing to forgive you"

"Ha, that's funny"

"Do you always have to be such a bitch?"

"Yeah, it's kinda my thing"

"Whatever, I need to talk to you about James"

"What about James?"

"Do you know if he, ya know has a girlfriend or something?"

"What do you mean 'or something'? Regulus do you fancy James?"

"Shh! Could you at least try to be quiet"

"Okay, ok. But do you?"

"Maybe, I don't know. It's complicated. But that's not what I came here for. Does he have a girlfrie-partner."

"No, but I know he's completely mad about Lily so it's not likely he'll go out with you"
