dimension 0.5

a burn on the sleeve of her stolen hoodie smokes, smelling of s'mores gone wrong
the nearly-done puzzle is on the floor getting stepped on, random pieces scattered on hardwood — its image of brightly colored pins flashes neon, then shifts to fluorescent, geometric shapes, no longer a 3D object but something else
the girl's hair is wild, thick and curled, headphones shoved on her ears as she stomps, but those dark locks become a lion's mane as she roars to the 90's alt music she's so fond of

an onlooker stares through the wide open window from an empty street (the sunlight helps her eyes as she squints at tiny cardboard cutouts, and it feels both warm and cool as the summer day battles with a gentle wind),
amazed by the majesty of this girl, even as she herself seems to not understand what is happening
the girl feels floaty and quite hysterical, it's been a day and she can't control her power when the atmosphere tears, a black hole in the making
she looks up suddenly, sensing something wrong and catching the strangely awestruck gaze of the stranger outside

they are sucked in as the gaping wound in the air closes, faster than the speed of light itself
a strange sci-fi horror story is in the making, set in dimension 0.5 and starring the mentally unstable
episode two is filmed in dreamland, playing in nightmares

this is probably the weirdest poem i've ever written ?? i didn't rlly have an idea in mind when i started writing it instead of doing math hw, i was just listening to weird experimental/electronic pop type shit and feeling nostalgic for the days i spend last summer working on a 200 piece puzzle on the floor by a sunlit window, blasting Lewis Del Mar (specifically AUGUST, their newest album). i think i wrote this in like mid-january, so definitely before vengeful, but i wasn't sure what to make of it bc it's kinda out there. it's basically a compilation of weird moments and vibes and my imagination + weirder music that encouraged that thought process. i haven't written anything decent recently but i wanted to update, so i just decided now was as good a time as any to post my more eclectic writings. lmk what y'all think !!
