snow melts into rain
not quite summer showers yet
the rebirth beginsapril showers bring
worms out of hidden places
stranded on dry groundthe muddy puddle
reminded the old of youth
getting rain boots wetin a willow tree
the dull bird hoards useless things
to keep hatchlings safebushes full of blooms
their caretakers give them life
the garden needs thempotted basil plants
taken out for the first time
they grow in returnwhen my mother smiles
it's like a shower of sun
the daisies perk upplaid blanket picnics
on early morning dewdrops
we smile while grass stainedpollen thick as smog
the world turns green, nature free
the bees sound mockinglaughing little girls
pick the honeysuckle vines
to suck the nectar
