Chapter 43

Omega's POV

Lights.

Beeping sounds.

Where was I?

I blinked twice.

"Commander?"

Alpha?

"Are you awake?"

Alpha.

Luke.

I nodded, telling him I could hear him.

"Will? He's awake!"

Will came in to the room and checked the moniter beside me. "Are you okay?"

"No." I winced, moving around. "Why am I here?"

"You fell off a dragon."

"How long was I out?"

"Three days." Alpha replied.

"Gods." I groaned. "Nothing happened?"

They were silent.

"There were a few attacks..." Alpha mumbled.

"And?"

A cold feeling settled over me.

"He'll know anyway." Will said. He looked up to me. "Mu's been captured Omega."

"What?!" I said, sitting up arubtly.

"Lay down." He ordered.

"Are you kidding me? How?"

"They went in secretly in to the Athena cabin. I think they knew that you and Mu were close." Will said.

I frowned. Gaea wouldn't know that I was Percy. She wouldn't...

But Tartarus would.

"No." I mumbled.

"Huh?"

"No. Nothing." I took a deep breath. "You sent out search parties."

Alpha nodded. "Two."

"I'll go."

"You can't." Will said. "Who's going to protect the camp?"

"You were fine without me."

Will shook his head. "Barely. A few cabins are ruined. Thaila's tree is now useless, and the gods seem like they don't want to help."

"You'll be fine with Alpha."

"I told you-"

"Where did the search parties go?"

"To Gaea's closest garrison."

"You know exactly where it is."

Alpha scratched his head. "Not really. We just assumed."

I sighed. "Where?"

"Its somewhere in Boston."

I looked at Will. "Am I good to go?"

"If you are okay."

"I'm fine."

He raised an eyebrow. "You said you weren't 5 minutes ago."

"I'm fine now." I insisted.

He sighed. "Don't blame me later on."

I turned to Alpha. "I'll catch up with the team that's going to Boston."

"How?"

"I have wings, you know..."

"Oh."

I stood up from the bed and winced. My back throbbed and my head hurt like hell, and I tilted to one side and lost my balance. I unsteadly tried to get up again, but only suceeded in going on the bed.

"I told you." Will said.

My head dropped. Why was I so useless? Mu would be scared. He was waiting for soldiers to come.

He was waiting for me.

I couldn't let him become like Kayla.

Or Victor.

I stood up sucessfully this time and managed to put my cloak on. I stumbled to the door and went out, unfolding my wings.

"Commander?"

I looked back, seeing Beta. He stared at me curiously. "Why are you out so soon?"

"I'm going to catch up with a search party."

"How?"

"Wings."

He shook his head. "Commander. I know you want to protect Mu, but... We know you aren't okay. Also, Zeta went with 6 campers. Mu will be here soon, safe and sound."

I stood there silently. "Beta?" I said quietly.

"Yes?"

"You know Kayla, don't you?"

He paused. He knew it was a subject I didn't like. "Yes..." he said cautiously.

"I don't want Mu to become like her Beta. So please-" I swallowed. "Please don't hold me back."

Now it was his turn to be silent. He sighed after a few moments. "I can't do anything about it. Just... Don't get hurt. The camp needs you too."

I nodded and took off in to the air, blowing Beta's hood around. I saw him hold on to his cloak and move away to wherever he was going.

I turned to the bitter winds, and also to Boston
