Omega's POV
I examined the burn on my hand.
There was the greek letter Omega burned on my skin. Maybe it was a sick joke telling me I couldn't be Percy. I looked away. Someone knocked on my door and came in. Victor.
"How are you feeling?"
"Horrible." I muttered.
He sighed. "It looks like Gaea's with Tartarus. It wont take long for them to attack."
"We can't give them any prep time."
"Thats my point. You need to get well soon."
"I can't really do anything."
He bit his lip. "Can't you atleast think you're okay?"
I looked at him. He wasn't joking. "I'll try."
"Go to sleep."
"I can't."
"You have to."
I sighed. I was tired, but the fear of Tartarus kept me wide awake.
He pushed his hair away from his eyes. "Try to."
I sighed. I really couldn't refuse his eyes. "Okay."
I closed my eyes and layed down, praying that Tartarus wouldn't haunt me no more.

I watched from a distance as they buried the ashes. Piper was crying again. Chiron had his head bowed down. I tried to block the tears that threatened to fall. We came back to camp in the bus, and I only looked out into the window. Piper already used a box of tissues, and Chiron was trying to comfort her. Argus seemed uncomfortable in the tense silence.
"Percy?" Piper sniffed. "Tell me they aren't dead. Tell me this is a joke. Tell me that the-"
I put a hand on her shoulder. "I wish it was a joke too Piper. I know it hurts."
She burst out in a fresh burst of tears. "They can't be dead!" she sobbed. "It's unfair!"
"My dear-"
"What can we do Piper." I cut in. "They are dead."
She looked up at me with red eyes. "Doesn't it hurt? What do you feel? How come you don't cry? Do you care?"
I looked away into the window.
"So you don't care?!" she said shakily. "Look at me!"
I looked back at her. "Then tell me Piper. Tell ME then. Tell me that it's a joke. Tell me the war never happened. Tell me we still have a chance." I said.
"Tell me I'm not responsible. Tell me I don't have to lead the camp any more." I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.
"I want to deny the truth too Piper. I want to say I'm not responsible. I-" my voice broke.
"I want to cry too Piper. But I'm a leader Piper. I can't cry."
She was silent. "Then cry here."
I looked down.
"Nobody blames you. You aren't a leader here."
Tears were already rolling down my cheeks. They dripped on the floor. I covered my face. Piper patted my back as silent tears dripped down.
"I'm sorry." she said quietly. "I know you miss Annabeth."
We all cried silently until we got to camp.

I went to my cabin as soon as we got there. I still needed time. I threw myself on the bed and breathed in the salty scent of the sea. I noticed something on the little table next to my bed. A picture. I rolled over and grabbed it. It was a picture of us.
The seven.
I held the picture far from me, holding it up. I smiled at Leo, who made bunny ears for Jason.
"Annabeth. I miss you." I said, looking at Annabeth's face. "I'm a reckless fool without you. You would say I'm always, but..."
"Can't you come back?"
I stared at Annabeths face, which was still smiling at me.
I sighed and put the picture on my sheets. I covered my mouth so I couldn't scream. I didn't want the camp to worry. I pulled the blankets up, and closed my eyes.

Victor's POV
"All you need to do is stay in the room."
Hazel frowned. "But i think it will be awkward..."
"And will he even like it?" Jason said skeptically.
"He'll be sleeping." I ressured. "He wont know anything."
"Then how would it help?" Leo asked while picking at his watch.
I sighed. "Please. Trust me." it felt odd to say that word to people I barely knew. I didn't really like that word.
Frank tilted his head. "I guess it wont do any harm..."
"I'm in." Piper said. "When do we meet?"
"Piper-"
I cut Jason off. "Tomorrow, after lunch. He'll be sleeping."
"Why would he sleep at noon?" Jason asked. "How can you be sure?"
"He can't sleep at night anyway." I said, standing up. "He'll get tired anyway and fall asleep."
"You'll help, right?"
They all nodded, but Jason was a bit late."
"I'll see you tommorow."
I went out to Omega's room. His eyes were open and that was all I could see in the dark room.
"When did you wake up?" I asked softly.
"Now." he said.
"Dreams?"
he nodded.
I sighed. "You can sleep at daytime. I'll be here."
He sat up and I turned the lights on. I injected a tranquilizer, and he seemed to calm down. I looked at the clock.
"I'll stay here for an hour. It's getting late."
He nodded absentmindedly, but I knew that he was scared of being left alone. I sat down on a big couch in the room and sank into it. The camp was still bustling, but I knew curfew was 11. I knew by then, all sounds would be muted into wind and monsters. Omega was looking out the window, not meeting my eyes. His hand clutched his sheets tight, and his face was pale. He closed his eyes tight, and didn't open them. I followed his actions by closing my eyes and sinking deeper into the chair. I yawned. It was late and I was tired. It had been a busy-
"Victor. You can go."
I suddenly became wide awake. "No. I'm fine."
"You should be tired."
"No-" a yawn cut me off.
He turned towards me, his eyes now open. "Don't deny it. Go."
I sighed and went out, closing the door tight behind me.
I went to the Apollo cabin, and I saw Lee and other campers sharpen arrows and stuff. Lambada looked up.
"Hey. Is Omega okay?" he asked.
"You think he is?"
He frowned as I put down my bag and took off my coat.
"When will he be okay?"
I plopped down on the bed, facedown.
"You aren't going to change clothes?"
I was already asleep.
♬
My day in Delphi was simple. I was a doctor of a small town which in nothing happened.
But one.
The day I died.
I watched myself wake up to meet the worst day of my life.
