Piper's POV

Screams.

I woke up sweating and flinched as another bloodcurdling reverbrated around the camp. A few annoyed Aphrodite campers woke up. I rubbed my red puffy eyes and threw my blanket off my legs and went out. All the others followed me out. I could see that many campers had come outside to see where teh screams came from. I followed it, and my steps got slower as it came closer to the Zeus cabin. Renya came close to me and held my hand tight.

"Dont look over there."

I nodded numbly and went to the cabin.

the Posiedon cabin.

Chiron was in front of the door, bowing his head down. The campers who had closer cabins were already there, looking at the door and Chiron nervously not knowing what to do. Another scream came from the cabin, and some of the younger campers flinched or covered their ears. I wanted to do the same, block out his cries of anguish.

"Nightmares." I said quietly.

I felt uncomfortable with all the attention, but Renya became a comfort to me.

"He had bad nightmares after he... fell. I guess it was better with Annabeth, but-"

I was cut off by another scream, and this time I flinched along with the others. Clarisse sighed and barged past the campers to the door. Chiron grabbed her arm before she could open it.

"We cannot do anything my dear. We cannot help." Chiron said quietly.

She scowled, but stepped away from the door. Tears fell from my eyes without warning. I didn't know why I was crying so much. I loathed crying. It made me look weak, and people underestimated me. But I couldn't help but cry.

I knew now, he was broken just like me. I knew he wasn't the same anymore, and that he was hurting much, much more than me.

"His fatal faw affected him too much." Chiron muttered.

"What it is it?" I sniffed.

"He didn't tell you."

I shook my head, wiping my eyes.

He sighed. "He must of had a reason. Let him tell you. I have no right to."

I looked away as another scream broke the empty silence.

"Can I go inside?" I said.

Chiron looked at me intently. He stepped away from the door. "Try."

I swallowed and opened the door quietly and stepped into the cabin.

I didnt expect it to be that bad.

The moonlight seeped into the room, letting me see everything.

But I didn't like that for a moment.

The horrific sight made me want to scream and run out of the cabin. But I pressed down my fear and took a step towards him.

He was practically covered with blood from a wound on his arm that he didn't bother to bandage. He was sweating, and his face was scrunched up in a expression of pain, fear, and sorrow. His clothes were the same. He groaned and turned over, making me flinch. After he turned over, I could see he had more serious wounds. A long cut across his chest had a green tint and looked pretty deep. I wanted to look away from the blood stained everything, but I knelt beside him and took his clenched fist. I slowly unclenched them, revealing little cuts in shape of his fingernails. I looked up to his face, and my heart nearly stopped to see him looking at me with his bright green eyes that looked strangely dimmed tonight.
