Omega's POV

I rolled off my bed, tangled in the sheets.

I groaned, picking myself off the floor. I stumbled a little bit and grabbed the desk before I cracked my head open on the desk. I hauled myself up and streched, and looked back down at the papers. I sighed and counted them.

I could get them finished by noon if I skipped breakfast as usual. But this could be the last meal here at this planet...

It's not like you're used to eating here.

I sighed. I guess I needed to go to see all the soldiers and leaders.

I walked down the empty hallway, still thinking about Annabeth. My memories had become more fainter, which made me feel guilty even though it was normal.

I could see more soldiers going to eat breakfast while going down the stairs. I still didn't understand why my hallway had only my room. For privacy? I shrugged off the question and stepped into the cafeteria.

It was a very large place, enough to fit all the soldiers. I could see soldiers milling around, going to their seats. I stared at the empty Kappa team table. I wanted to forget it so bad, but some things just couldn't be forgotten.

I sat down at my seat, and I felt a few stares on me. I didn't really care. It was a rare sight to see me eating, especially at the cafeteria, and even more at breakfast. A few bagles and blueberry cream cheese appeared with a glass of milk. I spread the cream cheese onto the bagle slowly, getting nostalgic for my mom's blue food.

Cookies... I took a bite of the bagle after making a sandwitch. Blue cookies...

"Commander."

I looked at Alpha, who bowed his head to me. I nodded and turned back to the soldiers in front of me.

"Why did you come for breakfast today, sir?"

"Can't I?"

"No..... Just was curious."

I took a bite of my bagle. "Just."

"Oh..."

"It could be the last time."

".. Yes?"

I narrowed my eyes. "Whose that?"

Alpha spotted the small group of soliders circled around the corner- where the trashcans were. He sighed.

"It's Quinn again. "A son of Ares."

I scowled and went down to the tables, where soldiers were chatting and moving around. A few bowed at us, but most of them were busy talking or eating. The group of 11 year old boys parted like the red sea to reveal a boy cowering in the corner.

"Commander." Jason bowed his head to me. I spotte a few Argonauts at his table, drinking wine from goatskin flasks. I scowled.

"I am pretty sure drinking is prohibited here."

Jason bowed a little lower and I swiped my hand and all the wine evaporated.

"Chaos is too careless." I muttered. I stared at the boy, who looked barely 10 years old.

"I'll try not to believe it's not your fault Jason."

"I'm sorry sir, I will-"

I stared at the boy, who had lowered his bruised arms and was staring at me in wonder.

Gray eyes.

".. A son of Athena?"

"... Yes, pretty rare around these times."

I stared at the boy. His eyes hauntingly reminded me of Annabeth. Those steely, gray, analyzing eyes.

"What's his name."

"Andrew. He's 9 years old sir."

"... Whose Quinn?"

A tall, black haired boy took a cautious step foward.

"I hope you'll give him the right punishment Jason." I glanced at Andrew. "As for him.... I'll be teaching him."

Jason raised an eyebrow. "Yes?"

"He doesn't belong here. I'll be teaching him." I said slowly.

Jason pursed his lips. "... Yes, but-"

"I trust that your teachings have taught him enough." I narrowed my eyes. "Don't dissapoint me."

I put a hand on the boy's shoulder and teleported to the hospital.

"Are you okay?"

He nodded, gripping his hands tight.

Gray eyes.

"... How did you die?"

He looked down. "A monster." he said shortly.

"When?"

"A year ago." He looked down at his hands.

I stared at the boy, trying to concentrate on something else but the hair and eyes.

"Sir."

I flinched. He met my eyes carefully, his steely gray eyes reminding me of Annabeth's.

"I heard that you were going to Earth."

I paused. "Yes."

"What becomes of me then?"

I bit my lip. This was so selfish. I was asking him to risk his life.

"If it's going to Earth with you, I'd like it."

I raised an eyebrow. "Really."

"... I want to see my mother."

I sighed. "Look... I can't guarantee you'll be safe. I just..." I clasped my hands together. "Why not you stay here with Chaos? I'll ask-"

"Please." his eyes pleaded. Exactly like Annabeth's. "Can't I go?"

"There's nothing you'll get from seeing Athena." I said flatly.

"Then why did you take me out of my team?"

I looked down. I wished he would just go over it. I was stupid. Jason was a great teacher. He would do good.

"Please."

"... Alright."

His eyes lit up, and my lips twitched as if they were to smile. My mouth felt so stiff.

"Just... can you stay safe?"

"I promise." he smiled. "Pinky promise."

For the first time in centuries, my mouth twitched into a stiff, awkward smile.

It couldn't of been better.
