Keefe POV

“Looking sharp Hunkyhair.” Ro said from Keefe’s bedroom doorway. Keefe smirked and adjusted the collar of his black tunic that went perfectly with his navy blue cape that was lined with shiny gold fabric. Instead of his Sencen crest he used a pearl as the clasp of his cape.

“Thank you very much.” Keefe told Ro winking at himself in the mirror. Ro snickered and cracked her knuckles. The princess had refused to change out of her iron bikini like armor but had agreed to at least change the steel bottoms for a steel skirt. It wasn't much different but Keefe didn’t really care. The only thing he cared about was how he was going to function tonight. Like, how was he supposed to act around the girl he...liked...when she would be surrounded by people who like her and actually have a chance with her.

“No. I know what you’re thinking and…”

“Maybe we just shouldn’t go.” Keefe interrupted her.

“Absolutely not! I have been waiting way too long for this. Besides, tonight is the night you confess your feelings whether you want to or not.” Ro stated matter of factly. Keefe glared at her.

“Not.” He said definitely. Ro snarled and stalked over to him. She gripped the front of his shirt and lifted him off the ground

“Listen hear Hunkhair, you better tell Blondie how you feel tonight or I will do it for you, and I assure you that it would be a lot easier for you to tell her.” Ro threatened, and Keefe would never admit it but in that exact moment she was actually kind of scary.

“First thing first, put me down.” Ro reluctantly released him “Second thing, fine I’ll tell her. But, let me do it on my own time.”

“As long as you do it before Pretty Boy then I’m cool.” Ro raised her hands in surrender and stepped back. Keefe sighed and straightened his collar again.

“Alrighty, let’s do this thing.” Keefe said as enthusiastically as he could. Ro snatched his hand once they got up to the leapmaster.

“Havenfield!” Keefe called. When Havenfield came into view Keefe was met with the site of multiple parents and their sons. Keefe had thankfully talked his Father out of coming since he would have absolutely no fun if his Father was there...but come to think of it, it would have been nice to have him as a buffer.

“Keefe.” A familiar voice called. Keefe turned around to spot Biana, Marella, and Linh rushing over to him.

“What are you guys doing here?” Keefe asked, surprised.

“We were helping Sophie get ready.” Biana explained with a proud expression.

“And we are very proud of our work.” Marella said with a flip of her hair. Keefe smirked and chuckled.

“Well we better go.” Linh said, grabbing the girls hands.

“Good luck.” Biana whispered as the light whisked her away. Keefe winked and strode over to the enclosure all the families were huddled around.

“Sup Dexy.” Keefe said approaching the strawberry blonde boy. Dex was wearing a forest green tunic with black pants and he was standing with his parents.

“Hi.” Dex said with a wave. He was much more relaxed than Keefe felt, especially when Keefe noticed that Grady and Edaline were now greeting people at the entrance of the enclosure.

“Are you ready for this?” Dex asked.

“We’ll see.” Keefe said with a shrug. His eyes scanned the crowd until they landed on the Vackers. Fitz was wearing a white tunic and red cape, and he looked...way better than Keefe.
