That Boy

"WHAT!!" Grady shouted snatching the paper from Sophie's hands and jumping to his feet. 

"HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!" He shouted rummaging through the other papers looking for some mistake.

"Grady please calm down." Edaliane said as she took the papers from his hands and placed them on the coach next to Sophie. Sophie stared at the papers. She was totally thrown off guard. She picked the pages up and looked at the name again.

1. Keefe Sencen

She was flooded with so many emotions at once: shock, confusion, hope, and an overwhelming sense of fear. Keefe? Really? How was that ever going to work? They'd known each other ever since Sophie had come to the lost cities. Would this ruin their friendship?

Sophie barely skimmed through the rest of the pages. 

8. Fitz Vacker

33. Dex Dizznee

98. Jensi Babblos

Those were the only other names she knew on her match list, and she already knew two of them wouldn't work out. Jensi was nice and all but, he always talked like he was on a sugar high ,and they were just friends. And Dex was like a brother to her and they had already decided to keep it that way. However the other two names, now that's what made Sophie panic.

She'd liked Fitz ever since they day she met him and sometimes it seemed as though he felt the same way. But, she wasn't really sure...

Then there was Keefe. 

Sophie didn't know what to do with that.

She loved Keefe.....but like a friend...at least that was what she thought.

Her mind was to overwhelmed she couldn't think about this right now.

"How could that boy be your number one?!" Grady asked dragging his hand down his face.

"Now, now Grady. He has a name." Edaliane said sitting next to Sophie who was still staring at her lists.

"Whatever! The point is how did he get number one on your lists. I wonder if Dex hacked into the system and did something." Grady mumbled to himself.

"Grady! Dex would never do that, and you need to calm down right now or I will conjure up a bucket of ice cold water and splash you with it." Grady smiled a little and then seemed to remember what was happening and went back to mumbling theories.

"Sophie you look a little pale." Edaliane said feeling Sophie's forehead with the back of her hand. 

"I think I'm just a little shocked." Sophie said which wasn't a complete lie. She was shocked but she was also scared, happy, and sad. There were a million questions buzzing through her mind.

"Oh! I need to hail Biana." Sophie remembered standing up and running to her room. She had promised Biana to tell her as soon as she opened her match packet. 

After a few clicks of some buttons Biana's beautiful face appeared on the screen. She had chocolatey brown hair that looked good no matter how you styled it. Today it was in two french braids tied with light pink ribbons that really brought out her beautiful teal eyes.

"Did you do it?!" Biana asked excitedly. She was the only friend of Sophie's who knew she had received her first packet.

"Yes." Sophie answered which earned her a chorus of squeals from Biana.

"So who was your number one?" Biana asked urgently. Sophie bit her lower lip. She knew that Biana used to have a crush on Keefe. Even though she made it seem like she had gotten over it who knows how she would react if she found out one of her closest friends had him as their number one match.
