Katrina's P.O.V.
As much as it pained me to leave the warmth of Piers' arms, I had to.
"Chris you can go to sleep now, I'll keep watch."

"Thanks Katrina."

I was soon left to my own thoughts. For a while I just imagined how Piers felt getting out of that underwater base alone, and hurt. Then I let my mind wander to how he held me, and engulfed me as we slept. For hours, everything was going smoothly. No monsterous things even came near us, which was a bit scary. What could they all be doing that they have hardly come after us?

A helicopter sounded above us, stayed for a few seconds, and left. One of our helicopters would have no reason to even be around this area. I held my gun ready and listened closely. After a few minutes of listening to only snoring, the helicopter returned. I could hear the j'avos above us speaking in a language I could only understand with close range and concentration.

I heard a snap and a grenade rolled down in to the floor just above us.

"Guys, get up now! Piers, Captain we have to fight!"

It took a minute, but they were soon both on their feet and ready to go. I told them about the grenade that luckily just hit the floor above us and I told them about the helicopter above us.

We started out moving slowly and quietly up the stairs. Once the damage done to the tenth floor came in to our sight, we quickly marched up to the roof.

The j'avos in the helicopter had massive guns and many more people than we had. There was also a plentiful stack of grenades stationed behind them.

It didn't take long for them to notice our presence and we took that small window of time to duck behind some barrels.

The boys spoke about what we should do, but I took the time to listen in on what the j'avos were saying.

Oh no. Reinforcements are headed from the south of us. That means bigger, stronger things coming and we barely had time.

The fight had only just started and the j'avos were already piling up. With the help of eachother, we decimated their group. Too bad they are not the problem, the reinforcements are. The j'avos in the helicopter took a slight break for some reason, and I took that time to run around the roof and pick up all the ammo that was dropped.

The j'avos started to fly away, but Piers thought fast and shot the propeller. What a sniper move. Within a few seconds the j'avos were engulfed in fire on the ground

"Nice shot P-"

I was cut off by something grabbing ahold of my neck, cutting off my breathing. I struggled, twisted, turned, and put up quite a fight until the thing lost it's hold on me. I dropped to the ground, unable to move due to lack of oxygen. Captain and Piers continued to shoot at it, with me pooled at it's feet. As soon as I had gotten enough air back I threw a grenade and ran away in one swift movement.

"There are more coming, lets get the hell out of here," I yelled almost frantically.
