After I got back and got stitched up, Piers and I began to wander the BSAA base. We got caught up in eachother's lives following our long time apart.
"So, do you have a place to stay yet?"
Piers was staying in the Residential Area of the base before he disappeared and at this point they've given his pod away. There are many underground floors with little apartment like pods.
"No," he replied, "I was in the hospital wing. Once I recovered I went on our mission."
Normally he would have to go to the bunks (a common hall filled with beds), but I have a better idea.
"You could stay with me, if you want."
*3 hours later*
We went to the bunks to retrieve Piers' belongings. After carrying seemingly endless boxes through the halls, he was finally ready in my bunk.
"Well here's- home I guess," I said gesturing to the small rooms.
He started walking toward me and my breath hitched in my throat. We almost collided when, at the last second, Piers dodged me to rifle through some box. He did that on purpose- making it seem like he was coming to kiss me. We always worked in little games. I grabbed some mire comfortable clothes from my dresser and stripped down right in the middle of the room. There's nothing he hasn't seen before and I'm beyond caring. I turned back to him (fully clothed) and he came closer, slowly this time.
"I missed you- and us whatever we are."
I looked up to him listening to his words. We both leaned in ever so slowly but finally, our lips met. Mid-kiss the lights died. I let out a small yelp at the sudden change and I could see that smirk through the dark.
"Kat there was some kind of sabotage on the power by some rookie."
Sherry barged in to my room and I was still in Piers' arms. After Piers died, we became good friends and she kept me on my feet.
"Oh sorry, didn't know I would interrupt something."
She began to close the door before I told her it was ok. With a chuckle and a wave she was gone. The awkwardness in this room was practically visible.
