"Kat, wake up," Piers' groggy voice carried through my apartment even though I was sleeping in his arms.

I hummed in response, but made no effort to open my eyes.

"Come on we have to train today."

I felt the bed move and the warmth leave. Why did he have to get up? I slowly opened my eyes and rolled off the bed lazily. I plodded to the bathroom and practically screamed at my reflection. My hair is a mess and I look like a rat. The worst part is that Piers saw me like this.

In a matter of twenty minutes we were dressed and waiting down in the gym area.

"What time were we supposed to be here?"

Piers replied, "Eight o'clock."

It's 8:15 and there isn't a trainer in sight.

"Who cares about a trainer let's just get started."

Piers agreed and we started stretching.

Right hook, roundhouse kick, it's all the same. I feel as though I've been beating this bag for a lifetime.

"How about you try on the real deal?"

"Do you mean fighting the legendary Piers Nivans?"

"You know it."

We both got in to the ring and sweat was already beading down my face.

"On three. One, two-"

I cut him off with a "three."

We got considerably closer and I started with a light kick to his side. He easily caught my foot and threw me away. I landed effortlessly on the ground.

"Come on Piers, I know you've got more in you."

Some taunting never hurt me. He swept toward me, arm swinging, and I dodged right. I circled around his back and knocked the wind out of him with a quick punch to his side. He hunched over, at the perfect time I tackled him to the ground.

"You weren't trying," I stated still laying on top of him.

I swiftly rolled off of him.

"Wanna get some lunch?" I offered.

"Sure- but first..."

His words were cut off by him grabbing my face and pulling me in. Our lips met in the middle of the training room. Once I actually comprehended what was happening I kissed him back and wrapped my arms around his neck. Before things got much further, some whistles sounded from behind the wall. A group of rookies came out calling and whistling.

Because a bunch of rookies seeing our quick makeout session was all I needed.

"Get to work rookies," I yelled half-jokingly, "And as for you Piers... race you to the cafeteria!"

We trotted through the halls, still slightly tired from our recent workout. As i got to the elevator I skidded around the door. Then I slammed the buttons trying to close the door before Piers caught up. As he stepped in to the elevator we locked eyes. I pecked him quickly.

"What was that for?"

"That was because this is war."

Just then, the elevator dinged and opened it's doors. We raced out as the cafeteria was coming in to view. Piers ran just infront of me and this was the first mistake. The second mistake was forgetting to tie my shoe laces earlier. I fell in to him, knocked him over, and gave a great show to Jake and Sherry (who were eating near the cafeteria doors).

"Kat, how many times will you end up on top of me today?"

Jake and Sherry gave eachother one look before bursting out laughing and Piers and I soon joined in on their laughter.
