"Shh, we're close now."
I grabbed his hand, interlocking our fingers. It's about midnight, and I'm taking him to a special place.
Before Terrasave found Piers, I found this spot. Great beachfront to sit, think, or swim. It's too bad that fall is quickly approaching. When it finally came in to view I dropped Piers' hand and started running.
"Come on!"
I stripped down to my swimsuit and looked to see if he was doing the same. It was then that I noticed, I'd forgotten to tell him about the swimming part.
"Umm- I think you forgot to tell me something," he stated with a light tone.
"Just swim in your underwear. Everyone has forgotten about this spot."
With that I turned and ran to the water. It was freezing cold, but it felt nice in comparison to the warm air. I continued to wade around until the water reached my chest. I looked to the cloudy sky as I heard the sound of moving water behind me. I turned my head to Piers.
"I figured we needed a break from the craziness of the BSAA," I said to break the silence.
"Good idea. A little warning would've been useful, though."
I laughed in response to his comment. In the silence I moved my hand in the water, looking at the discoloration from the still-present debris.
"It really was Hell down there. I'm glad you actually listened to me for once."
He was referring to the fact that I wanted to go with the Alpha Team during their Chinese venture. Usually I would disregard his warnings about my safety, but that one time I didn't. Things could've been drastically different if I had been there. He could have skipped the whole virus ordeal- or I could have ended up like Finn.
"Let's not think about that and focus on the fact that you made it out."
Then he hugged me from behind. We just stayed like that- his face resting on my shoulder, arms around eachother- and we didn't let go.
