Violet quickly took off running closer to where Newts body once lay, Marcus called after her and when she didn't listen he followed her. Violet stopped right in front of the spot, she crouched down as every single worse possibility came to her mind. She didn't even realize her eyes had began to water, "Violets" Marcus called from behind her out of breath. Violet didn't move "what if they took him" she whispered more to herself, "Violet" Marcus said trailing off.
Violet looked up at him then realized he was looking somewhere else, she turned to where he was looking and that's when she spotted it, the blood. She quickly got up walking over to it before kneeling, she reached her hand over to it. It was dried now, a faint black, this could have been from when Minho dragged him here though she doubted it.
She thought about it for a minute, if Newt where to hide in the WCKED building where would he hide? He was infected so the only reasoning place would be "Sub level 5, it's where the cure is, he has to be there. Marcus Newts alive he has to be" Violet spoke getting up a slight smile spreading across her face. "Cmon" Violet said taking his hand and running to the big metal double doors. He had to be alive, she quickly ran to the doors pushing them open, "the elevators are probably out of service cmon" she said as she ran down a hallway.
They turned opening the door Marcus looked up realizing how much stairs they had to climb. Violet pulled him to the middle of the stairs, "what are you doing?" Marcus asked as Violet let go. "Do you trust me?" she asked quickly, he slowly nodded. Violet clenched her fist causing a red glow to appear around both of them. The quickly ascended floor by floor as it went by in just a flash of colors.
When Violet recognized the floor she immediately stopped letting them drop on the side by the stairs. Violet landed on her feet but Marcus fell on his knees, Violet didn't wait instead quickly opened the door and ran out. Marcus fell over "wait" he breathed as he felt like throwing up. He looked up realizing Violet was gone "you gotta stop doing that" he said stumbling up before running out. Violet ran down the hallways, Marcus catching up to her. Violet ran to where she last remembered the cure trials being, she kept running doing turns while Marcus kept telling her to slow down while her slowly began to get tired.
Violet finally made it to the hallway that contained the door, Violet stopped in the beginning of the hallway causing Marcus to almost bump into her. Violet slowly walked to the door as Marcus slowly trailed behind her not sure what to do.
When she got to the door she stopped staring at it before taking a deep breath. She brought up a shaky hand to the door knob turning it before pushing the door back. There in a metal table lied Newts body, "Newt!" Violet called as she ran towards him. Violet quickly grabbed his wrist checking his pulse which was still evident. She let out a breath of relief "i need a syringe, now" Violet said as she pushed Newts hair away from his face.
Marcus frantically opened a large cabinet containing trials of the cure, after reading many labels he found one that was at its lead. He took it handing it to Violet, Violet quickly took off the cap clicking it after pushing the air out. She quickly stabbed it into one of his green vains in his neck. When she finished she dropped it before checking his temperature which was quickly going back to normal.
His color slowly began to return, Violet slowly brought her hand to his.
Marcus watched from afar not sure what to do, could he really have been foolish to believe she'd like him. His thoughts were interrupted when Newt stirred awake.
"Newt?" Violet asked as she began to shake him, he slowly opened his eyes "am i dead" he asked his voice husky from just waking up. "Thank god" she breathed immediately hugging him once he sat up, "you have no idea how much i missed you" she mumbled into the crook of his neck. "You got your emotions back" he said as he hugged her back tightly, "uh about that i kind of blew up a million windows" she spoke taking a seat next to him.
She looked over at him seeing the same goofy smile he used to always wear "you really don't know how much i've missed you" she said hugging him again.
