Cage of the Shattered

Chapter 5

 A nuke had gone off in the city. Millions of people were disintegrated in a mere instant. The flames went over the city for at least fifteen kilometers. The ground was burned up. The explosion reached up to 150 miles. The shockwave pushed back all the debris in the area. Raijin looked up in surprise at the giant ball of fire that engulfed the city. Allen I saw the big ball of fire and had a shocked expression on his face. Allen didn't know what just happened but he was surprised nonetheless. "What is going on?" Raijin thought to himself. The wind from the direction pushed Raijin a few inches back. The wind pushed Allen back but Allen tried to stand his ground but failed indefinitely. The wave of heat was coming. Raijin held his hand out to resist. The pain of heat was generated at Raijin's chest. His orange right eye began to glow. A wave of fire generated at his palms. The idea of survival filled the two boy's consciousness. Blackish red flames spreaded out from in front of Raijin, the fire surrounded the two boys. All the people around them were burned away and blown back several meters. The nuke's heat wave clashed against Raijins fire. Raijins arms started to burn up like before giving him 5th degree burns once more. Allen was dumbfounded by what he just witnessed around him and Raijin's body. Allen noticed that it looks like Raijin has more control over his flames then Allen does himself. The flames were completely different colors then his own, it kinda reminded him of smoke. Raijins flames were hotter than Allen's own abilities. The buildings around the two started to crumble away. The light grew even more covering their vision. The two were sent flying. Smoke from the bomb entered the atmosphere. The two lost consciousness.

Allen woke up several minutes later while he was under the rubble from some of the tall buildings nearby. Allen tried to move but the rubble on top of him stopped him from moving anywhere and was unsuccessful doing so. Allen then was looking in Raijin direction then noticed he was starting to wake up. Raijin slowly opened his eyes. His body was covered in dust and dirt. He looked over at the boy who was still stuck from moving. He then crawled and pushed himself up with his knees. He stood up and looked around. No one else was in sight. Chard clothing and limbs were left on the ground. Raijin walked over to the boy who was clearly still alive. He moved the large bricks off of his chest and arms. Allen was now free to move. Raijin held out his hand to help Allen up while Allen had a lot of debris and dirt on his gray coat and his pants. Allen could barely stand up but he managed to do so somehow. Allen asked Raijin what had happened. "I'm not sure, why would this city of all places be destroyed," Raijin responds. "What is your name and who are you?" Allen said that as Raijin was staring at him. "Oh, yeah, my name is Raijin Kiji, i live around here. Or did, my home was attacked not long ago. The government is after me. They failed to kill me at my house and I guess that explosion was to assure that I died," Raijin said looking away. "Why would they want to kill someone like you?" Allen said to Raijin as he was still looking away from him. "The city that me and you are in, there were some things we didn't know about. My father was the Ceo of Bridgewater Corp, you know the main government building that supplies money to the city, I broke into it to speak to my father. It turns out they were doing experiments below the building. Animal creation, creating new energy sources. They know I've seen their activities," Raijin elucidates. "What happened? What is your power? What did you do a minute ago? And I didn't know there were other people like me. I am so confused." Allen said as he was dumbfounded at Raijin. "I'm not sure, after I was caught in the explosion, my body was changed. I've been in constant pain, everything I touch and go around, gets instantly shocked. I'm just constantly surrounded by electricity. But I guess I have some form of fire as well. I'm not too sure," Raijin says looking at his burnt hands. "Oh by the way, my name is Allen. I recently found out that I have some fire power which I learned to kinda use from my mentor, Konni." Allen said as Raijin was listening to him. "To think humans were capable of this? If you have something similar, maybe you can teach me. I can't keep dealing with this pain and destroying things everytime I touch something," Raijin replied. "To think there were other people beside me with this same power." Allen said to Raijin. "We need to see who else is still alive, there could be some people around us that need help," Raijin says as he looks around at all the rubble. "Alrighty, sounds like a good plan to me." Allen said as he was looking at Raijin. The two looked around and began to move down the street. Any people they saw in their area, they lifted the rubble from them. An hour past. Very few people survived. Then as they both were still standing there, a young boy flew down and landed to where Allen and Raijin was. The young boy said something that made both Allen and Raijin's faces turn toward him...
