10 - The Fight Begins

7 Days had passed, Tanjiro hadn't returned from the final selection. Often Urokodaki and Nailee would sit down and discuss how he might be doing.

Nailee was aware of that demon that killed all of his previous students, in a way you could say Nailee was extremely worried for her best friend of the past 2 years.

"What if he defeated that demon?" Nailee asked. "Doesn't mean that another one can't kill him." Urokodaki answered.

"Wow you're really one for optimism, Mr.Urokodaki." Nailee said. "What's that supposed to mean?" Urokodaki asked frustrated. Nailee giggled "Nothing major really.." She said as she smiled looking at the door where Nezuko was in before she stood up and went there, once again to keep her company.

After 7 days that the final selection requires had passed, there was still no sign of Tanjiro. Nailee was looking at Nezuko once again being worried that she might wake up soon and not find her brother.

Nezuko suddenly grabbed one of Nailee's hands and held them tight to her, Nailee smiled knowing that she's alive and might wake up at any moment.

The night after Nailee was in Nezuko's room taking care of her as an older sister would to their younger siblings. Nezuko's eyes suddenly fluttered open and Nailee gasped and smiled.

"Hey..." Nailee said as she and the demon stood up, Nezuko ran to Nailee and hugged her so tight. "Welcome back!!" Nailee said. There was still no sign of Tanjiro. Nezuko looked at the door as she removed her arms from Nailee and pat her head.

"Are you going out for a walk?" Nailee asked as she watched the demon walk towards the door. Without hesitation Nezuko kicked the door down which caused Nailee's eyes to sprung open

"WHERE ARE YOUR MANNERS?" Nailee yelled to the demon who was completely disinterested at what she had to say. Nailee ran towards the demon who went outside "WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST BUST OPEN A DOO-" Nailee was cut off by a voice.

"HEY! NEZUKO!"

Nailee's eyes widened when she realized who that voice belongs to. She was so happy that her best friend came back.

"You... So you're awake?" Tanjiro said while looking down at Nezuko from the small hill he was on.

She watched as Nezuko ran towards her brother and her brother did the same thing. "Nezuko." was all that Tanjiro could say before he stumbled and fell on his knees, his sister still ran after him and hugged him.

"Why... Why'd you fall asleep all of a sudden?" Tanjiro said while crying. "Never waking up once!" Tanjiro added.

Nailee ran towards them to join the embrace. "I was worried you were going to die, you know?!" He said, Nailee held them both as she fell on her knees.

"But she didn't. And she never would have. I wouldn't have forgiven myself if she did." Nailee said while tightening the embrace. Urokodaki was looking at them with wood on his arm before he dropped them and followed them to embrace the three.

"You came back to us alive." Urokodaki said.

After all that was done, Tanjiro had to wait 15 days for his sword to come around.
They all sat down whilst they discussed while Nezuko fell asleep once again.

Nailee's POV:
"It seems that Nezuko is a whole lot different from other demons." Tanjiro said.
"That is indeed true, just like demons as myself we... they have to consume human flesh or blood to continue their existence. Thankfully due to my mothers side I can use spells to regenerate my powers. As for my demon side and my sorcerer side." I explained
